Customer Appriciation Day - tanTALK

I'm into my 5th year of biz and never have I done a CAD. I'm never sure how to approach the idea. Do you do a day of free tans? A week of crazy specials? A month? Just new customers? Free lotion? Will I make enough profit?

How many of you have done a CAD? How well or not so well did you do? What did you CAD consist of? How many would do it again/ or not again?

I was just thinking of doing one in Feb. before our busy season starts. Looking at other posts a lot of people are doing that as there Valentine month.

Your comments on CAD would be very helpful. Thank you.

I'm doing my first one Feb 11, with free tanning and a free pkt of lotion. Haven't completely decided what specials to run, probably discount on lotion and x amounht off 30 day packages. Any idea on how to advertise? Do you really do a lot of it?

See that's what I'm wondering... how much to advertise and what to advertise. And if you are spending all that money on advertisment and giving out free tans, how do you make it up? Hope they buy packages as well?

IM doing onew in 2 weeks and ahve done ZERO advertising... I dont know whats going to happen.. I am emailing whoeve is on my list and putting up some flyers locally and putting it on my website this weekend. Other than that I really dont know what to do

yes, free tanning to everyone, we are trying to get old clientale back that hasnt' been here for awhile. Regular cusotmers can get free upgrades if they want.

we always do one in september, hire the local radio station to come on location for 2 hours, costs us 500 bucks. then we do a charity barbque, proceeds go to a different charity every year. we then offer a draw for free tanning for a year to everyone who buys a package on that day, as well as hourly draws for a gift basket which includes a 5 sessions package. have always done very very very well. have done it 4 yrs running now.

Wow! Shantilly that's great! I'm going to have to get some info w/ some local radio stations and maybe work something up! What a great idea! I love charity... giving is the best gift of all!

I do something all the time, manufacture will send you free stuff, just do up a flier with logos and send it to your lotion rep, and they do the rest. We are doing a "Welcome Home Soldiers" right after we reopen and we have all the stuff ready to go..
