Rep Power: 0 | company information jan 08 / 06 hello, i am battleriver babe and new to this website. i just purchased a bed from Thundertan with a website www.thundertan.com. the bed was to be delivered within 7 to 10 days, i didnt receive it for 2 1/2 months, damaged, and then got more parts sent, all in all they had my money 3 months, and i had nothing workable until 3 days ago. they had all kinds of difficulty trying to import the bed, and their website is now non-active, and they never do answer any phone number that they advertise. it is always a call back, I read a message on here from someone asking if they knew of Thundertan, and i really reccommend that they look for their tanning bed elsewhere. This company is bad news. i really like the bed, Sunsource, all metal, and so verrrrrrrrrrrrry heavy. But I dont know where to get parts if I need some, as I very much do not wish to deal with these people ever again. battle river babe. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: company information Hello- Has anyone ever used the Solar Storm beds?? From hot tanning beds.com??? I am in the market to purchase a home bed and these seem pretty good for the price and free delivery. A friend that my hubby works with bought one a few years ago and loves it, just wanted some feed back. For price of some of the used I can buy new and have everything new with warranty. Any feedback would help with my selection. Thanks:)

Rep Power: 23 | Re: company information Seems there MUST be a website that could better help you than one that focuses on salon owners that 'hate' hometanning for a number of good and bad reasons..... Does www.iamtan.com have advice for those looking to tan at home??? In areas where there simply are no valid, professional salons with good service ~ hometanning units are really the only real option..... But... I caution you honey ~ UV is no joke.... and I hope you understand the difference between 'moderation' and 'skin abuse' As far as buying a bed..... alot of websites (like this one) do have salon owners selling beds (used).... and they would be able to give you the specs you need to know as far as Amps/voltage and assist with troubleshooting via phone on your set up (i'm thinking at any rate).... Home users eventually have to re-lamp and re-glass their unit.... have fans go out, sockets and starters meltdown etc.... I am a FORMER salon owner....... and I don't have a home unit..... major PAIN IN THE *** keeping these things running at peak performance.... and I love going into the local salon and being treated like a valued client ~ ~ I don't clean beds anymore either ;) Now a days---- with all the salons (small businesses) getting creamed.... you can find a pro quality bed for less than a sh*it bed made for unsuspecting homeowners..... Kinda like the difference between a Chevette and a Mercedes ~ I tan about 2 times a week in the winter (for Seasonal Affected Disorder)..... and I can tell ya.... once your friends find out you HAVE a bed.... they will be UP your BUTT for free tanning..... the Electric costs, Costs of Good Lamps, and cost to re-glass a bed are really high....... Are you sure you want to do this? |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: company information Thanks Sheila- Yes- I am actually a former salon manager and have been an avid tanner since I was 16. I tan all year around and hubby said "for all the tanning you do, we should just buy a bed for home" YES!! I have been doing research for about 6 months, it is just a big purchase and plan to do this just once, want to make sure I found the right one. I have a friend who will do all the electrial needed for our bed. I know all the pros and cons, I am just tired of going to the salon and tanning in a bed that everyone else is tanning in. I want to be able to tan in the convience of my home. Just looking for some advice. THanks:)

Rep Power: 23 | Re: company information No problem ~ as a manager you prolly know the cost of lamps/glass and typical maintence..... you're way ahead of the game as compared to the 'typical' home tanner.... I'd buy a good used bed..... warrently schmarenty ~ ~ not like they will send anyone out to your house.... when salon owners can't get help at the salon! Good luck in getting it all set up ..... and remember---- make your friends and family throw 3 bucks into a coffee can for every tan..... or they will suck you dry! |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: company information Thanks Sheila- I will defintely do that with the coffee can. My friend has a bed in her basement, would never take my money, I just started putting it on her counter on my way out the door. The money can be put aside to help offset the cost to replace the bulbs, which is costly:) I know the warranty, they say covers this and that, but push comes to shove you really wonder. Have a great night and thanks:) I will keep you posted.
