Rep Power: 20 | Re: Has anyone franchised with Executive Tans? You should start from scratch, I can help advise on a salon layout, list of beds, controls, and computer software. You can find many repossesed beds and there are a few reputable dealers that I trust. With a mixture of new and used you should be up in running in a few months. A package of beds, controls, software etc should be $75,000 to $100,000. A finish out package is another $75,000 depending on the availability of air conditioning and enough electricity. You need at least 400 amps of 208 volt three phase electric and 8-10 tons of cooling. You need approximately 1500 - 2000 square feet of space. Sometimes a lessor will include space finish out in the rent, usually should be less $6 to $7 a square foot added to the rent for the first five years. A good lease rate would be $15.00 to $20.00 per square foot. E-mail me at fm6587@qwest.net and I will help you out with a plan you could get financing from a bank. pat paradise |

Alot of Executive Tan salons are closing, some are too BIG and do not have enough money coming in, why would you want to pay a franchise fee of $700.00 to $1,000.00/month for what, what are you really getting. LA Tans is going Nationwide and in Illinois they are BIG, but other salons will still exist, since they have nothing special nor do the owners want to be present and charge $30.00-$35.00 for a 40/3 bed? |

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Has anyone franchised with Executive Tans? I would never franchise - Why make someone else money when you can make it your self. Also, I would want to be my own boss not someone telling me what bed I have to buy and what lotion I have to carry. |

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Has anyone franchised with Executive Tans? Try not to Franchise. If you are in Colorado do your research on existing and Executives that no longer exist. You are better off starting something out on your own if you are ready to take that step. Ask yourself why you are wanting to open up a salon... Is it to be your own boss? Can't have that with franchise. Is it to make more money then you are now? Don't forget that if you franchise, there are more hands then one in the pot. Location as well... don't place yourself near to another Executive.. you become compatition since the other Executive isn't owend by you. My vote is a NO for Franchise. I like my little salon and I feel that my clients do as well. It's more personal. |

First off, I am not a franchisee, I am about to Francise my operations because I have had a resonible number of requests, and I know that this post will create some flak, but , CARE FACTOR??? ZERO It's a shame there are so many operators that don't see the BIG PICTURE. The reason you buy a franchise are as follows. 1. You are buying a system that works. ( 8/10 new businesses fail in yr 1) 2. you are tapping into National Marketing, done by professionals not individuals. 3. you are are buying into a business that appears muuucchhh bigger than a privately owned operation ( mom & dad store) 4. Not all Franchisees have to follow the norm of pricing, it depends on your area, time of year, celebratory dates that are relevent to your locations. 5. There are many benefits to becoming a franchisee. 6. Cheaper pricing on almost everthing you buy!!!!! 7. professional support by companies that have been there, done that, got the T shirt. 8. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO IT ALL BY YOURSELF. It's in the best interest of the franchisor to ensure you are successful. SUCCESS BREEDS SUCCESS Now I will sit back and cop the flak from small minds with no big picture planning!!!!!! |
