I need a chair Anyone have tips on purchasing furniture? I have attached a picture of a chair I want. I know that furniture is marked up a lot. The asking price for this chair and ottoman was $959. It was on sale for $695. I offered $495 and they said that $595 was the lowest they could go? Should I buy it or not?

Q: are there any other chairs like this one anywhere else Q: Can you live without this chair if you don't purchase it today? Q: Can you barter? Some Tanning Session Packages or anything? (built in commissions on furniture usually) Q: Have you checked the quality? If it is Really good, then that is an excellent price. Q: Have you checked to see who the manufacturer is and check prices with them? This is what I do whenever I get furniture for any of my husband's Model Houses...Sometimes it works well...Maybe an opportunity for cross promotion if you are using it in your salon.....(just a few suggestions/ideas) Good luck... |

BTW who is the manufacturer and model....I will check it out to make sure my calculations are right if you would like me to |

Re: I need a chair I do allow my customers to negociate price. Only on higher priced services and packages. I have told my employees to make the sale and ask questions later. I would rather my employee have the power to make the sale and then ask management later if it was ok. This has worked fine for me for many years. It was manufactured in New Albany, Ms. I'm pretty sure it's not a name brand.

Re: I need a chair This does not happen very often. If the employee feels that they are about to lose the sale after they have followed training guidelines they are allowed to close the sale as long as it's reasonable. Examples could be. Husband and wife both join our SunClub ( 18.88 per month ) and the employee feels that to close the sale they would need to waive one of the start-up fees on the SunClub. We have several customers that spend well over $1000 per year in product. We sale lotion, candles and swimwear as our product. Lotion is by far the largest of the three. Some of these customers buy a year at a time and we discount it by as much as 50% to some customers because of their high product purchasing. I know these number because we just sent out gift cards to our top 25 customers. The majority of them spent over $1000. The top spender spent close to $1800 in product. ( Please don't tell her husband ) Gift with purchase is another area they done well with.

I think it is the american way of doing things...I mean how many of you guys would actually go to a car dealership and pay full price for a car? if any of you would, let me know...my husband would really like to earn your business!!! |
