Rep Power: 113 | Have any of you ever seen the VH1 series....I love the 80's?? Well, this evening on the 3D edition 1988..... It was a small but painful segment on tanning beds. Comparing beds to microwaves and getting an "orange tint" from a bed were just some of the highlights.... Seems these people are stuck in an 80's urban legend. WTF |

WTF Perhaps so, but let's face it, as much as those of us who love to tan will try and deflect criticism of this industry, there is solid, scientific, substantial medical evidence that connects excessive ultraviolent light exposure to cancers of the skin. As with everything else in life, there are risks inherent in tanning. To imply otherwise is simply untrue. The key, as with most things, is to do it in moderation. Tanning has come a long way since then... |

Rep Power: 0 | Painful to watch are arguments of false logic. Tanning and Cancer are not mutually inclusive groups. Not all alcohol drinkers are alcoholics that lose their liver, just as not all tanning results in cancer. I guess I'm preaching to the choir, though, since this is now in the IP forum What's more painful are some of the other VH1 shows. Breaking Bonaduchi (sp?) I hate seeing people feed off the misery of others. |

It was the orange tint and microwaves that bothered me... And since this has been moved to IP, I won't even comment on richmondthom's statments.... |
