Noticed some funny and very creative salon slogans... my question; Does tanning tee shirts sell?... or do you end up just giving them away?

Many salons use them as a marketing tool. If they buy a package for X amount and up, they get a free t-shirt. Or, use them for the girls to wear to school to get more tanners in. People probably won't buy them though.

We have given some away (ie: our one year anniversary). However, we have sold more than we have given away. Some of our clients have actually purchased one of each color. I am trying to decide if I want to have long sleeved shirts and hoodies done.
Initially, we didn't plan on selling our shirts. We obviously wore them in the salon and clients started asking for them...we started selling them Over the summer, we did a T-Shirt Tuesday, if they wore their salon shirt that day they could take advantage of a certain special (ie: free upgrade).

we have sold t-shirts and tote bags. we order larger amounts because the pricing is better. the pricing is kept very affordable. our theory has always been that the more shirts being worn the better. it's walking advertisment, so even if you gave them away, your name is going all over town!

Premiums for customers. Make them so they are good for "working out" at the gym or Curves, or whatever. Good luck.

Those of you that sell your t-shirts, what is the retail sale price? Do you sell at cost or mark them up a bit?
