Am I Crazy? - tanTALK

I'm strongly considering opening a tanning salon. I've never owned one before, but I've always wanted to have my own. The timing seems to suck with the prices of electricity and gas going so high. Furthermore we live in an ethnically diverse area large population but low ratio of whites. I'm going to try to copy my spreadsheet to see - please bear with me if it doesn't copy over properly. I haven't posted on this before.

TARGET MARKET >>> 1 - 3 miles 2,746 21,850 35,594

I think I read somewhere that of the Target Market only 8% will tan (please correct me if I'm wrong with that percentage) So the actual number of potetial tanners in the 1/3/5 mile areas is 220/1,750/2,850. I'm still researching the competitors, but I know for sure that there is one in the 1 mile area. I'm not sure about how to find out where they might all be (they can sometimes be hard to spot and I don't have time to drive around all day anyway).

I've just recently joined TanTalk but I've see some very responsible posts coming from obvious wise and experienced individuals. Any feedback on what I have here so far would be appreciated. I'm not sure if it's crazy for even thinking of doing this given the state of our state (gas & elec prices skyrocketing - no end in site).
