Rep Power: 20 | If you have several "sales" people working a shift, how do you determine who gets the commission on the sale of a package or eft? Do they fight over the customers? Do you have one designated bed cleaner (receiving no commission) and one sales person (receiving commission)? Please advise |

Rep Power: 28 | Your software should allow you to share commissions between employees. Bed cleaners are usually excluded unless they in fact helped to make the sale. I have never had anyone fight over comissions. |

Rep Power: 21 | We have a bed cleaner and sales consultant on during the shift. The sales consultant stays at the front counter and gets all commission and the bed cleaner cleans beds. If bed cleaner gets busy the sales person will help out and if by chance the bed cleaner makes a sale while up at the front then they earn a commission. In some cases we will schedule 2 sales consultants and then we list head consultant and secondary. The head consultant on that shift works the counter and the secondary cleans beds and does not get commission, unless of course up front and makes a sale. The bed cleaners, have to work hard and show some skill before being promoted to sales consultant. Does that make sense. |

Rep Power: 20 | mikeytan, yes that all makes sense. What do you do if you have two "seasoned" sales people scheduled on the same shift. Do you have one of them scheduled to clean beds while the other one sells or do they switch around alternating between customer sales and bed cleaning? |

Rep Power: 21 | I have one as the head sales person and I rotate this on the schedule, and the other is there to assist with bed cleaning and front counter if busy. So basically the head sales clerk has the most opportunity to sell, if they are busy or away from the counter then the second steps in to make the sale and receive commission. If it is slow on a particular shift then the secondary sales clerk is the first let to go home early. The girls love it this way and never complain. I have thought of switching it a bit and instead of rotating, who ever has the best sales stats gets the position of head clerk. I am worried this might create negative competition though! |

Rep Power: 0 | Our commissions for tanning sales are based on hours worked divided into the gross tanning sales for the month. Everyone is responsible for selling to clients, as we do not employ bed cleaners. When a client gets below 100 minutes, they are prompted to buy another package. Since everyone services the clients all month long, tanning them and educating them, everyone gets a portion of the available commission on gross sales. |

If an employee can sell better then the other, they should be able to have that position more. The other employees will work harder for that shift in order to make more money. I think it will work out better for everyone. Obviously you as the owner, would want the best sales person to be at the counter, not cleaning beds. |
