Rep Power: 34 | Selson Blue is the best way to go. Try to keep it on your skin as long as possible. Like 30 minutes prior to showering put it on, then shower. I have even heard people sleeping in it and showering in the AM. Use it everyday and it should clear up in a few days. |

Rep Power: 20 | How bad is it right now? Halt and Wipe Out work, but I've found that they really don't do much for an advanced case. I suggest you see your doctor for a diagnosis if you haven't already, and request a cream or oral medication to clear it up quickly. Then, after it's taken care of, use a product like Halt or Wipe Out as soon as you start to see it coming back (it will) to stop it in its tracks before it messes up your tan again. Also, keep in mind that the white spots will not go away if you stop tanning - even once the TV is cleared up - until you fade completely back to pale. The spots are areas that did not tan due to the TV, so you will have to tan to get the spots to blend in (which sounds like it won't be a problem for you since you don't want to stop tanning ), which can take about a month from the first day of treatment. As for tanning while treating TV, tanning will not make the actual fungus worse. However, it will make the spots more noticable since TV prevents your skin from tanning in those spots. Generally, it takes about 2 weeks (depending on the treatment) for TV to clear up. Then, you can figure another week or two to tan the spots so that they blend. The length of time required to get everything to blend really depends on how you tan while treating it. If you stop tanning completely for two weeks, it will obviously be easier to get them to blend in since your base will start to fade around the spots, making them contrast less. But, if you wanted to continue to tan, you could do so on a maintenance schedule (twice a week) to keep your current color without making the contrast any worse. I definitely would not tan with the goal of getting darker until you have the TV under control, though - else it will take longer to get the spots to blend. I hope this makes sense. I've been fighting the yearly fight with TV for the past 7 years. |
