Help! Can\'t stop burning!! - tanTALK

Hey, I have tanned a lot in the past, and have never experienced this problem before, but I have been burning lately, and I don't know why. From January to about April I was tanning for 20 minutes 4 or 5 times a week, and just getting darker. I decided that I wanted to take a few months off for the summer. I have just recently started going back. I started at 13 minutes in a basic bed, which normally wouldn't darken me at all, let alone burn me. I usually start with 15 because I think I have a good base. So at 13 I burned really badly and didn't tan for 3 weeks after. So I went back last week for 10 minutes...that was okay. Then a 2 days later 11 minutes...that was fine. Then yesterday I did 12 minutes, and today I'm burned again???? I have never had this problem before. The only thing I can think of is that my tanning lotion has gone bad?? I will admit, I left it in my trunk for 2 months in the summer, but the girl at my tanning place said to just throw it in the fridge for a day and then I should be okay with it. Is it possible that my lotion is bad and that is why I'm burning? Its a dark bronzer, no tingle. Please help!!!!! I can't figure this out!!!

ask them if they have recently changed the lamps/acrylics or if they are now using lamps that are higher in uvb(stronger).
indoor tanning lotions don't protect your skin from burning.

are you on any meds? maybe the salon you go to has some newly changed lamps in certain beds?

Yea, I know that lotions don't protect me, but I was thinking that maybe I was getting a lot of oil from the lotion because it may have separated out in the heat? and that is making me more prone to burning....I'm going to buy new lotion immediately, but I just don't understand why I'm burning so easily now??

Well thats the thing, I have been thinking about that too, and I have done NOTHING different than I used to do when I tanned. Its really frustrating, I've never had go in a bed for 11 minutes!! I usually start at 15!!

Sounds like a recent lamp change and possibly higher uvb this time around.
