how much should i be asking to sell my salon for i have 5 beds 3 20min dr kern 3 yrs old 1 93 plat bed 1 super bed 4300 4 f ultra sun 12 min gross sales 59,000 profot/loss was profot 32,000 i am trying to sell it for $35,000 BUT AM I ASKING TO MUCH ITS CLEAN AND ON A BUSY STREET.

How do you profit $32,000 from $59,000 in sales? No bed payment obviously, but what is your rent and are you paying anyone payroll?

Selling a salon it is always the case that the "worth" is --- whatever someone will pay!

Your beds are porbably only worth $20K - TOPS! So is it worth another $15K for someone to walk in and get a client list, an established business, a sign, computer system, a little lotion inventory, etc -- maybe. In a smaller town, this could be a decent "job" to buy oneself. But they would have to work it themselves - don't think you could make payroll and still make any profit. If there is no room to expand, then it will never make much more than it is now.

Try going to your local competitors to see if the might be interested in "expanding". Or a client that might want to "own" it for themselves!

Ultimately, if you have made decent money, are ready to walk away -- don't get crazy about "profiting" from the final sale. Even $20K in your pocket, along with the money you made along the way, may be enough of a "wash" to be worthwhile!
