Spoke with our daughter this morning who lives in Iowa LA about 3/12 hours west of New Orleans. They are housing many, many famalies in local churches. The Red-Cross is helping but, to only those housing 150 plus. The small churches that are housing lower than 150 are not receiving aid. The larger numbers are being taken care of first. Our daughters chuch is housing 80+ famalies that are in need of several items! Childrens clothes, toys for the children and daily supplies. The outer lying towns in Louisiana are suffering from grocery shortages. They have no bread or milk. We are collecting toys, dolls, soap, toliet paper, paper towels, coloring books, crayons, puzzels, board games and much more. If someone whats to help go through your local church to help the small churches in these areas that are trying to help these people. Yes, the Red-Cross does great things, but the money has to go through channels prior to aid arriving in a timely manner. Please check with your local churches find out what churches they are affiliated with in these areas to send help. I am waiting on web-site and address information from our daughter to post and as soon as I receive it I will let you all know. Thanks to all of thoes who are praying, donating and giving their time to help these people. May God truly bless you and your famalies!

I spoke with my client who is high up in Homeland Security and she said the best thing to do is $$$, because it is too difficult to ship anything else at this time. We are doing $$ donation.

When calls were made into the Red-Cross they were told by one of the reps there that 150 was the cut off. They were not told why 150. General number I guess. They are trying to concentrate on larger numbers first. As soon as they take care of the larger numbers, then they work on the smaller ones.

Also people are in need of clean socks and underwear. We were collecting and sending items, money, food, and water all last week and we will continue every week as needed.

We have a Red Cross Relief Fund can sitting on the counter. Anyone that drops at least $20 gets a free week of tans.

We are listed in the newspaper for cash donations as well.

DS is running a program on the sept 9 and 12 for every bottle purchased by the salon $1 gets sent to relief fund. Don't know what disty's are all on board for this but this is also a great way to get some money down there and get some products at the same time. Call up your disty for details.
