finally someone on your side. My salon has florescent lighting & I never did anything with it, but now there is a program through Community Energy Services Corp. called East Bay Smart Lights program. They are going to change the lights & ballast so that the light is much softer , the cost is about $700 , BUT I only have to pay $106.00 the program pays the rest & the landlord agreed to pay the $106.00 thats what I can a deal !!!. I should see a savings of about $30 or more a month at no cost to me. Now remember that I am in California. I do have a Berkeley phone # 510-981-8955

It sounds like you are taking advantage of a lighting retro fit program. Energy companies have a certain amount of money set aside for these kinds of programs. Make sure your light levels are the same (if you want them to be the same. Fluorescent lamps come in many different colors. Cool whites is what you can go down to the local hardware store and pick up for a dollar or so.
Take advantage of it, its like finding money in street.

So Cal Edison changed out all the lights and ballast in my Salon. The new lamps are smaller and cost more to buy. My cost for the change out was $0.
