Okay, need some great ideas. We have a fall parade coming in October. Looking for some great ideas to make a float and keep it kind of simple and low cost. I am also looking for ideas on items to toss off the float with our logo. I would like to keep it under $500 for 1500 items. I do not want to spend a fortune. I want to toss something they will use more than once. Has to have room for our phone number as well. I know you guys are creative.

You can get company pens that have your logo and number on them. You can get about 500 for about $50.00-$75.00. This may not be the most creative idea, but it works for many companies, even my own!

We were going to participate in a float once. We had little to no help, so it didn't fly well. But, we were going to create something that reflected our tropical theme. (palm tree out of PVC piping, tiki torches, hula skirts, mimi bamboo hut). Can't you have employees walk next to the float handing out "complimentary tan cards"? We were going to have it stamped on the back of our business cards. I mean, you can pick up business cards or make them yourself. Print out adress labels even that say 1 FREE Tan on the back or even a $1 Tan. Mix the offers up. Have fun, make an impression on folks.

A pen could take out someone's eye. lol
What about keychains or kooley's. (sp?)

What about a revolving booth with an un-tanned twin on one side and a tanned twin on the other. As it rotates, it looks like one is getting tan?
You could have a big lightning bolt coming out of the top forming the letters "Vitamin D"

Those are all great ideas! Anyone know where to get inexpensive pens and keychains. I would like to throw out something they will use often. I was also thinking of doing a customer appreciation week the week following the parade and advertise it.

National Pens @ www.pens.com, they are always having sales with buy one get one free and so on. If you contact them, they may also be able to do more for you then just ordering online. They not only have pens, but other promotional items as well. You can some how run a promotion at your salon, like if someone was to bring in the pen they caught at the parade, they get half off a tan or something. It will show you that you did not waste money on the item because it brought someone into your salon. They have to show you the pen in order to get the special. Just an idea...
