Rep Power: 0 | Lots are saying HVLP is best way to go but when I talk to people that use airbrush like sunmist or Airbrush FL. they love it and say they can tan you just as fast. Plus they are quiet machines. It confusing because the machine that people use is the machine they say is the best. I have used a HVLP and its like stupid loud. compressors like Iwata are supposed to be way quieter. Any comments welcome as im new to this industry and these are just some observations ive made thats all. thanks Josh |

Rep Power: 71 | I airbrush use a very unique machine it has a built in prozone to negativly charge the air for deeper penetration it was created by a plastic surgery equipment manufactur. I can also do full body microdermabrasion with it before my airbrushing. Love it. I think HVLP is too wet. I can spray someone in 9 minutes and book my airbrushing in 15min increments. I love the fact that my cutomers don't need no time to dry before clothing. I have several salon in my area who have HVLP machines they switched from airbrushing because their inexperienced teenage sprayers were messing up everyone now they just hose customers down with a HVLP in two minutes then they have to dry for 10minutes. When a customer comes in that has been to the other places they like mine alot better, and they come back to me. There are salons who airbrush and they use the same compressor and sprayer a manicurist would use to do nail art now that's a joke then it will take 30 to 40 minutes! |

Rep Power: 0 | I purchased an air brush tanning system for my personal use. I hate it. When I tried to return it to TheTanningStore.com, I was not permitted to do so because I do not have the original box it was shipped in less than 30 days ago. Now I'm out $700 and I'm NOT a fan of airbrush tanning. |

Rep Power: 0 | I do not own a tanning salon, but I can speak from a customer's perspective. I have been airbrushed by about a half dozen different people, and I could definitely tell who knows what they are doing and who doesnt. I personally like airbrush tanning, however, if you are commited to providing the service to customers, make sure it is done well. |

Rep Power: 0 | I am actually an airbrush tech. We happen to use CTs airbrush unit. I can airbrush someone in under 4 min and they come out with beautiful natural looking color. 80% of our business is repeat and another 10% is referal. The unit itself is fairly quiet and use, mainteneance and cleanup are a breeze. I love our airbrush tans! |

Rep Power: 21 | I use the Iwata airbrush system. It only takes me about 7 minutes or so, depending on the size of the customer, to spray. I have heard many horror stories from my customers, who have tried spray tanning in booths. I like the fact that I am giving a "personal" service to them and I think they like the fact that the owner does the spraying. I have done sample spots on customers as well, ( to ensure my customers they won't turn orange) and they appreciate that as well. So far, no unhappy customers and lots of referrals! |

Rep Power: 0 | I own a salon in Toronto and use an Iawta compressor with an air gun. I have had no problems using this system on clients, the tan is very natural and golden looking. The drying time will be minimal if you use a solution that is thicker in viscosity and that the air gun is calibrated with the proper psi ad air outpout, the drying time is quick. The application takes 5 mins. no more, it isalso useful for people that want to be spryed in certain areas of their bodies, for example winter time for face, arms and neck, its' specific to the client's needs. I" m located right next to a mystic tan place and hear horror stories from my clients, someone mentioned that her hands the next day of being in a booth were so orange and nasty looking that it looked like she smoke 5 packs a day. The airbrush industry( called this in the beginning phase of it, now called sunless tanning) has taken a major role in the tanning industry because people like it.The equipment gets better each year and the solutions are even better than before, so anyone can argue the point about airbrush vs booth, it's all a preference and who owns what, and at the end of the day as long as the client is happy, that is all that matters. If the tech is good the results are beautiful...ask the stars, them seem to love it!! Vani-tsan Canadian distributor for Vani-t Liquid sun body products |

Rep Power: 71 | I own both. I explain to cutomers the differences like this; My booth is self service, it is similar to a automatic car wash does a good job but not as percise as a professional hand wash, which is like airbrushing. Airbrushing is hand applied and percise when done correctly. I also tell them that although the color is great from the booth it supplies only one color for everyone. My airbrushing I use over 10 different brands so it is cutomized to you. I charge $9 more for a custom airbrush compared to my booth. |
