Rep Power: 21 | It took Mystic some time to get thier PR ramped up and when it hit thoses that had it made out big time. Untill this happens with Lumiere you need to be good at sales. We have had months over 8k and some as low as 3k. Maybe it is time to take a good hard look at your staff and start asking some questions. |

Rep Power: 0 | We have one for sale also. Also had promises that were not fulfilled. House of Tan maybe you should remind people that your machines are not in a tanning salon. The machines do not belong in a tanning salon, should be in a spa environment. |

Rep Power: 21 | I WISH I had half the foot traffic that some of you have. My salon had just one Lumiere device until October (now 2) and we had to drive people in with creative marketing such as Lumiere parties, Women's expos, and Preferred retail Partnerships with hair salons. Perhaps, you should adjust your marketing angle. Having a bad outlook on anything will never yield positive results. I am sure your employees do not want to sell anything that you are trash talking. The device works and no one can doubt that! Are you trying to tell me there is NO market for anti-aging services in your area? or your customers? They are going somewhere else for these services; why not take a slice of that pie? PS. I am back in tanning (sort of), I just installed a Cal-Tan Auto Bronzer I don't know your situation, so I can not say what will work for you. It was not easy for us either, but we made it work through persistence and creative marketing backed with well paid (great) sales reps. IMHO, no 18-20 year old girl (or boy) can effectively sell Lumiere. There is one constant variable to successful Lumiere salons...GREAT SALES STAFF; not the kind that can get an upgrade every now and than, but real sales people. Good luck whatever path you take |

Unless RAI starts advertising outside of Tanning Trends and the other industry magazines, we that have the units are not seeing the results the company said we would. Have a $30K piece of equipment for sale! This is a great opportunity for tanning salon owners! But yes, without a concerted national and local marketing campaign getting the name and the info out to the consumers, it will be an uphill battle for many salons that bring it in. Not to mention the in-salon marketing and promotion factor that can be a challenge for many salons. But trust me kingdom, the money is out there, the equipment works, and it belongs in tanning salons, and nowhere else. Good luck to all. Nice to see you again HOT. -Belvie |

Rep Power: 21 | I wish I had the money to market such a device. I could swing the $30,000 price tag but I think you need to have the money to advertise. I believe it is a great concept and will do very well for those who can and know how to market it properly. I also believe you need to be in the right market area. |

Rep Power: 0 | I'm glad to see the conversation about Lumiere. House of Tan ?....what is meant by the comment that you don't have your device in a tanning salon? We've been in the industry for about 4 years, and it's fine if there are some out there who can blow off promises and advertising info not done, but my feeling is...if a company says that your product will become a household name thru the parent company advertising and we as a salon owner do A TON of our own advertising, promotional weekends, co-op, etc, etc, etc, and the parent company still doesn't fulfill thier obligations and then will not take the product back, like their contract said they would, then avoids phone calls, etc, etc, BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES !!!!! Would you continue having clients if you treated them in that way ? We may be business owners, but we are also Clients ! NSTAN........I would like to speak with you concerning legal stuff, if you'd like. |

Rep Power: 0 | I need to also say........I believe in Lumiere and the results of it. It's not for everyone, and it doesn't have "dramatic" results for everyone, but I have seen it work. BUT..........how does one promote a product when they are feeling so disillusioned. Would you continue selling tanning lotion from a company that behaved or treated their clients in that way? I truely wish it hadn't come to this, we would have never took a leap with a new device on the market it we hadn't fully believed in it, or trusted the company !! |

Rep Power: 21 | I am not fully aware of your situation or the promises made to you. I never had a buy back option. I am aware that RAI thought this would be picked up by the national media at the onset of Lumiere. They learned a tough lessen about the Tanning industry... IT IS A BLACK FLAG to media, no one wants to touch a positive release that has anything to do with tanning salons (but that is a whole other discussion). We have done very well with specific advertising that I am more than happy to share with anyone who wants to listen (PM me). RAI now has Doctors on board to help get this into main stream media (hopefully soon) and a new PR man helping out. It took some time for Mystic to get ramped up, and I think RAI was a bit cocky at the beginning and thought that they could get it done quicker. Media is tricky, if you want to be upset with anyone, look to the media outlets that avoid tanning salons like the plaque (not excusing RAI if they made promises to you). This is a great new offering to the general public, there is no reason that this should not be on shows like 'Good Morning America' and 'Oprah' but then again why do we not see more on Vit. D Seriously call PM me so I can get you my number, maybe I can help???? |
