Have any of you ever gone to another salon and slipped flyers on the client's car windows?

I would suggest that skulking around the parking lot is cowardly. Go and stand just outside the door of the other salon and hand out your fliers to the customers as they try to enter the salon.

ED S@URI~ That's a good one, your too funny!

clubsuni~Not going to be a giving yourself a real top notch image pulling this trick. I assume you LIVE in the community and people know who you are, so probably not the best idea if you don't want the whole town thinking you are a slimeball...(JMOP)

Dont do it...It may seem like a good way to steal clientelle, but in actuality, you will look desperate. People will go where the "crowd" goes, you just need to find a way to get the "crowd" into your salon. Stand behind your salon, and operate w/ pride. That alone will attract people. Your competition will spend most of their time trying to keep their existing clients, because people like new things, and if they try your place, make sure it is a pleasurable/upscale experience!!!

Why would you even consider this? Is this how professional you are? And if you need to draw business in to your salon by spending, re: wasting time passing out fliers, then I suggest you re-do your biz plan.
How would you react if you walked out of your salon, and on your car was a competitors flier. I would bet your reaction would not be plesant. DON"T LOWER YOUR STANDARDS! Shame on ya!

Right when I opened my closest competitor did this exact same thing. He looked pathetic he wasnt putting the flyers on cars tho he was actually walking around giving them to people and the shops in the plaza with me...not only pathetic but very tasteless.

better yet change your name to your competitors name with a 2 behind it then change your phone # to your competitors with different prefix. Lot less work than handing flyers out to people
