Rep Power: 22 | This morning was a normal morning until a client comes out of the room saying she cant see. Well, first question asked, "have you been wearing your goggles, NO is her answer and I said well that is what happens. I tell her to sit down and and I will pull up some info for her and let her vision focus in. I show her the counter cards from EYEPRO which have always been there. We always ask for her goggles. We talk for a minute and she tells me her mom has never worn hers, I ask her when was the last time her mom went to the eye doctor. Long story short, I bet she will wear them things now. |

Rep Power: 22 | Ok, yes you should wear goggles but lets not get carried away, we have run over 500,000 tans over the years and nobody burned their eyes, went blind, or for that matter even got pink eye. Yes, we still provide goggles for FREE. Seems since Eye Pro (sorry Brenda) started sending out the photo of the worst case of pink eye in the history of the world a photo that is even worse that the one in the Mayo Clinic book there is more and more false info about tanning and its effects on the eyes. Should you wear them ABOSULTY! Will you get pink eye as portrayed in the Eye Pro ad the odds are not likely. How would all of you like it if sunless operators started posting photos of the worst case of malignant melanoma in the history of the world in their salons to promote sunless? Again sorry Eye Pro, I purchase all my eyewear from you and have posters in all rooms concerning the wearing of goggles from you. But we still sanitize and provide them for free and I hate the photo and the assumption that if you don't buy goggles and use the ones that concerned salon owners like myself provide your run the risk of looking like that. It’s a scare tactic to sell goggles, and it’s a good one granted but I will never post that photo in my salon. Stepping off my soap box now, that has always bothered me. |

Rep Power: 22 | I might add we could come up with some very scary photos of things you could get tanning an unsanatized tanning bed from the people who tried to sell plastic covering for tanning beds for the protection of tanners, or from people who sell stand up booths. One of the reasons for suggestion a stand up is "its more sanitary" do we really need a medical photo to prove it? |
