I believe I have reached my tanning plateau (or how ever you spell it)

I am wanting to get darker. Right now I am using Emerald Bay's "Mojo" and it gets pretty warm. I also used "Half Baked" the other day and loved it. I couldn't tell if it did anything to my tan or not b/c I only used it once. The place I go has it for $35 and I know I can get it cheaper elsewhere. I want to know what will get me darker. It seems like I am at a stand still.

Also....is the tingle factor and stuff different with each company? Emerald Bay rates Mojo a 7.

Each company will use different levels of tingle/hot action in their lotion so Emerald Bay tropical heat of 7 probably wouldn't be the same as a Swedish Beauty lotion with a tingle factor of 7. If you're using Fiesta Sun, you might want to try Purple Daze - hotter than Half Baked but without the bronzers.

Thanks....I'll look into that.

Okay....so the purple daze is HOTTER? That half baked was just about as hot as I could stand it. How much hotter is the purple daze?

Let me tell you.... I am a tingle freak. Use it every time I tan. If you read the back of a bottle of Purple Daze, it says it should not be used for any longer than 10 minutes in a bed. So I thought, I will give it a try. It seems to me the hotter I go that eventually I just don't tingle anymore so I was doubtful.

I put Purple Daze on and went in my ProSun 36, which is a 15 minute bed. It has a 160 watt canopy and 100 watt lounge with 400 watt HP facials. It started to tingle before I ever got in the bed. I went the full 15 minutes and was crawling out of the bed. I was really red and when I left and went out in the sun, to drive home, it got even hotter. So if you are looking for a hot tingle you have defintely found it.

I am a big fan of Swedish Beauty tingle lotions. This year I am stocking the Unforgiven. It is a T40 with triple bronzers. This is the best lotion I have ever used in my life. One 12 minute session in my S-Class with Unforgiven and I am done for the week. Even though it costs my customers $67.00 a bottle, I can't keep it on the shelf. You go into the S-Class with Unforgiven and you are one shade darker before you went in. And those results will sell any lotion!

I can't handle that hot of a lotion! And I believe I am allergic to Swedish Beauty products. I used 2 different kinds of Swedish Beauty lotions last year and it was like....my tan would peel off, literally. The skin would peel off and it was white underneath, and wet. I didn't understand it so I figured I am just allergic. Anyway, I think I am gonna stay away from the Purple Daze. If I get too hot I'll pass out!

You may also want to finish up a bottle of Half Baked to see where it gets you, then swicth back to a non-tingle lotion for awhile............

You may have to resign yourself to the fact you're only genetically capable of getting so dark.

kuddles02 05-10-2005 10:22 AM

Well I don't HAVE the bottle of Half Baked. I used a sample of it. I really don't like the idea of bronzers. Isn't it like a fake tan?

Neon Beach 05-10-2005 10:25 AM

Then you should see a local salon and get one. I'm not a bronzer fan either, but for those who have a hard time tanning or those who have reached a plateau it is an option.

kuddles02 05-10-2005 10:32 AM

Okay...so do you know much about bronzer? Isn't it like a fake tan? Does it wear off? Like....if I get some and I keep using it then it should wear off. And plus I am getting a "real" tan too aren't I? I don't know why I'm not a fan of it....just always thought of it as a self tanner. Like DHA or something.
