If the tanning units are properly sanitized you would not be able to get ring worm.

Even if it wasnt cleaned right it would still be darned near impossible. If it was that easy everyone that touched anything would have ringworm. I rufused service to someone who said she got it in our salon. Salons are the scapegoat for lots of skin stuff. Doctors notice you tan are ask and tell you that is where you go it. Easiest explaination for them. You have noticed doctors are wrong alot? They are just like mechcanics - they guess and hope for the best.

I find this comment somewhat strange. Forty years ago I got ringworm from swimming in a nearby lake. The ring grew and bled every time I swam in the high school pool with all that chlorine. The doctor gave me two or three UV lamp treatments and some cream to get rid of the pesty ringworm. The UV light was a standard treatment back in the 1960's. Further, the lamp in the doctor's office was barely 250 watts compared to the 3000 - 4000 watts found in even a weak tanning bed.

I find it strange what doctors did forty years ago compared to today, Pat Ferrin Paradise Tanning Salo, Circle Pines, MN.

Please note I am not recommending not to sanitize tanning tanning beds carefully.

yeah, ringworm is different types of fungus all combined, and it is very contagious (i.e. athletes foot - ringworm of the feet)

warmth/sweat helps the survival of it. you can get it by indirect or direct contact with anyone that is infected. hence the reason to why its always important to throughly clean any material objects that are for communal use.

you can actually get a fungicidal cleaning product thats ideal for cleaning such things like shared sunbeds, etc.

Nice way to try to make a sale 321 - but no dice. That means you are wrong. I googled Ring worm and the two sites i looked at said the same thing. Ring worm is trasmitted by skin to skin contact. Which means you cant get it swimming and you cant get in the tanning bed. Unless you tan with someone touching you. Like i said earlier - if it was that easy to catch we would all have all the time.

I know this is off the subject but not really just backing up my point. Its like a public bathroom - if skin fungus was that esay to catch we would all be using the bathroom at home and no where else. The sun block companies have made a bazillon dollars from making you afraid of the sun. Now companies are cashing in our fear of germs. I have been tanning for 10 plus years and have not had any skin problems. Average twice a week for 10 years. If it was easy to catch something i would have.

Funny, people say athletes foot and no one flinches. Say foot FUNGI and people run for the hills. Ignorant people. Fungi is fungi. Just different names for different ways of getting the same basic thing.

Same retards that think their COLD SORE isn't the same as GENITAL HERPES OF THE MOUTH cause they don't want to admit they've been honking dirty dong.
