Rep Power: 0 | All of the above plus be prepared to kiss your life goodbye for at least a couple of years unless you are extremely well funded and can afford to pay lots of payroll hours to well trained people who totally share your vision. It is a fun, rewarding, maddening, depressing, happy, cyclical, ever-changing industry. You will need to be flexible and able to roll with the punches. Have you ever been in biz for yourself? If not, there is a huge learning curve ahead of you. Embrace as much of it as you can before you invest mega money. Make sure you have the guts to be in biz for yourself. It definitely 'ain't for sissies'! _________________ A Happy Tanner is a Loyal Tanner[ This Message was edited by: pam on 2005-04-24 07:58 ] |

Rep Power: 107 | Money is right. Also, contact some of the major bed manufacturers, they have some helpful info on salon start ups, break-even alnalysis, etc. etc.. That would be a good starting point. For example: http://www.sundash.com/sundash.asp?ID1=Service+And+Contact&ID2= Break-Even+Analysis http://www.sundash.com/sundash.asp?ID1=Service+And+Contact&ID2= Salon+Layout http://www.sundash.com/sundash.asp?ID1=Service+And+Contact&ID2= Sun+Business+Magazine |

Maybe use what you get as a starting point and them massage the numbers to get a more accurate picture of your demographic location. You have to keep in mind that the bed manufacturers are trying to sell you their equipment and will make the numbers look (in a break-even analysis) high in income and low in expenses. |

Rep Power: 0 | Thank you all for your input. As far as beds and products I have that covered. I need to present a business model and I am not too sure what I should have in it. I guess I kinda have funding covered too, but I still need to present the model. What are the key ingrediants to a successful business model? |
