Palm Beach is coming even if tomorrow Mystic goes under. If it’s no Palm Beach, its Planet Beach, or Executive Tans or some chain in your town with 10 salons that has not yet gone public. Franchising is the American way can’t be stopped. What's the point other than franchises scare the **** out of you. You really should just get out as your glass is always half empty. Still I do enjoy your rantings.

I hope CalTan has figured it out and has a great unit....I would rather give them the money then Palm Beach of course!

I will definetely try the caltan autobronzer when one is available in my area. the only thing that concerns me initially is the compressor which is located in the booth, and am concerned the noise could affect uv tanners or when you are trying to make a sale to a new client while the compressor switches on. Our current compressors for the mystic are located in an attic at the back of the salon so you can hardly hear them.Also i will be waiting for a while before I test the unit since all new booths have some initial problems when they come to market. Mystic had a few problems when they first launched but by the time i bought my booth everything worked smoothly.

Executive and planet beach are NO threat at all Small stores with NO money at all .....

Palm beach is Huge investment monies and Looking to Hurt you ????

Makes NO sense to me at all DO you want a German market here where in the next 12 months in germany upwards of 40% of salons are going out of business.......

Have to say at this point in time that Mystic still has the best sunless. (Okay, here comes the abuse from everyone who disagrees). Keep the posts coming!

You caught my eye with the Executive Tans comment. I just had one move in about 4 miles away, with Hollywood, and a small mom-n-pop. The HT I'm not worried so much (standups), and the mom-n-pop has some issues that makes me not worry as much....however I know nothing about Exec Tan.

Did I understand you to say I shouldn't worry about them?? Just curious the logic (even if you meant it the other way around...that I SHOULD worry).

I do agree up till now Mystic was the Ring leader for sure......

However with that being said Knowing now that isnt the case anymore HOW DO YOu or anyone else Support a company,That is taking your money and Using it against You ........

Ever time a Mystic is bought ALL that does is Fuel Palm beach more and more.

Excutive tan and Hollywood are Not as big as threat as a Palm beach or even a Tan company store as there Investment is Not that big to begin with.Not to mention most End users that buy into those franchises HAVE no Business sense at all to begin with.

Not to mention there are several Hollywood stores that are Franchised out that are GOING OUT OF BUSINESS.

My point to the Whole Debate is this .......

Why support companies that want to Run the Tables on US .........

Good points. You see it periodically in other businesses. Pepsi buys taco bell/pizza hut, and the other fast food/pizza places start dropping Pepsi from their fountain. Only problem, though, is I stop going to places that don't have Pepsi, and eventually they bring it back.

The same could happen if people TRULY prefer Mystic. It's too early for me to say. If a spray tan is a spray tan is a spray tan ....then it's smart to not give them business. In my case, I like not having Mystic because EVERYONE has it. They're running $50 unlimited monthly, however I can differentiate mine and not feel as much pressure to match. It did create some consternation, though, to buy a MiracleMist (by HT) with a HT store across the street. We looked at the HT fanchise before buying and it seemed a negative position to put yourself in.
