Gun-Toting Robber Sticks Up Tanning Salon

WINOOSKI, Vt. -- Police are looking for woman who they say used a gun to rob the Body Le Bronze tanning salon on West Canal Street Saturday night.

The woman is described as white and about 5 feet 8 inches tall. She was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with the word "Element" written on the front, blue jeans and dark glasses.

Police said she entered the tanning salon, told the she clerk she had a gun, and demanded money from the cash register.

Anyone with information is asked to call (802) 655-0221.

Well at least this woman knew it was busy season. We got robbed a few years ago in November. No money here in November....DUH

Yep, we got robbed (after hours) in December. Dumb-*** got about $50 in singles (and some private time with Bubba--he got caught hours later. )

Must be on crack....... who in their right mind thinks a tanning salon has any money/cash, what with EFT's etc.. Best to do it on a FREE tan Weekend........

This is my salon in winooski vermont Everyone is fine. but we are all still a little scared.

We are in a nice collage town of about 150k, for the most part a safe place to live. we have had B&Es at night before. (put alarms in the four stores) This is the first time when we were open .

Gosh I'm glad to hear everyone is okay..... when we got held up last November it was in the middle of the day and no one saw anything. He showed what appeared to be a gun and asked the girl to open up the register. Then he told her to go in a room and lock the door and don't come out for 30 minutes because he had someone "watching". She came out after a couple minutes and grabbed the panic button and ran back in the room. The police were there within minutes but they still never caught the guy. Like you, we are in a nice town. A suburb of Columbus, OH - hardley any crime. We were all shaken for a few days, but the guy got like $50 so we didn't think he would be back anytime soon....Small-time crook, there is a bank right in front of us. I would imagine they have more than $50.

This salon is about one block from the winooski police station. we also have a panic button and the police were there in a few. She, the robber, fled on foot down the street.
