Rep Power: 21 | Wow, you should be thankful that you have an operator who is looking out for you best interest, YOUR SKIN! People always think it is about the quantity of the tans how about the QUALITY. You say you were nice and brown from the 15 minutes obviously her equipment is up to par. Is that not what you want is a nice looking, healthy tan. People come in here daily wanting to go way over what I would place them into the bed for. I always tell them again it is not the quanity but the quality that is what you are looking for right? Perhaps trust her judgement you might be pleasently surprised. |

Rep Power: 24 | I agree 100%! You may know your body, but the salon owner sounds like a true Professional and knows her equipment and is really looking out for your best interests! Sometimes you have to do a baseline from which to start. |

Rep Power: 0 | She did right. I tan periodically and rarely burn. When I changed my bulbs I went max time, normal. I burned too, even though I knew better. I'd have never allowed a customer to do it. I won't take the same liberty with a customer, regardless if they swear up and down, "I never burn". The salon owner is protecting you, as mentioned, because LONG TERM abuse is what leads to skin cancer. You'll be fine today and tomorrow, but what about in 20 years. |

Rep Power: 0 | She did the right thing- maybe you werent pink but i am sure if you had done the twenty, there could have been an even greater chance of you burning. I always put people in for less than what they ask for and you what, they always thank me after. With any new salon the best way to go about tanning in their beds to to do a bit less than your usual time at other places, then if you don't burn you know you can handle their beds/bulbs and go up in minutes. Better to be safe than sorry, this is your skin your talking about. |
