I am looking at replacing the 100W bulbs in my 20 minute beds. One supplier is trying to sell me Radiance Bulbs. They claim they have a higher UVB% and therefore better results. Another supplier is suggesting Velocity Plus bulbs. They claim they have heard nothing but bad things about Radiance (lots of people getting burned). Does anyone have an input?

i dont think clients would like a bed that has a high ratio of UVB rays because they will get a sunburn.

i think 6.5 % UVB rays in a tanning bulb is the most commonly used........cosmedico / cosmolux i believe have 6.5 % UVB ratios in their bulbs and thats for a 15 minute tanning session........a 5.0 % UVB ratio would be good for a 20 minute session and not get a sunburn...........now these are my opinions, they are NOT facts, you should check with your tanning bed company and see what they recommend.

You are WAY off. Goldarium SP are a 20min lamp that are around 3.3%UVB. HiTans, the lamp we love to hate on, is up around 4.8% and these are 10-12min lamps that are good for toasting submarine sandwiches.

It's too bad that some of these companies just hrie any jerk to sell their crap.

DEFINITELY John @ URI!! He will steer you in the right direction. Equator Sun by light Source is a good lamp for that extra punch. But if you want a nice bulb, with little burn, get midday sun by light source. I choose light source now over Cosmedico- price, and color are better for business!!
