Rep Power: 0 | THIS WORKS!!!! Here's an idea that hardly anyone ever acts on. PHONE all your inactive tanners when busy season starts and you're not busy! People start tanning after the autumn WHEN THEY HAVE A REASON TO START. For most customers the reason to start tanning is when they're going on vacation, or when the weather gets sunny. This often doesn't happen 'til March! Or April!! If you call them and GIVE THEM A REASON, many of them will come! One free tan, any kind of special, the new lotions are here! Believe me, the salons that do this see real results! Answering machine? Leave a pre-scripted message. (Do this in November and December, but anytime is good. How 'bout 3 times a year?) Don't tramp about the weather or last season being great. Promote by phone! It's all about work! (Don't MAIL them instead. Mail costs money, it's hit and miss, and it's a cop out. But great to do if you do BOTH!) Your staff don't like the phone work? Tell them they'll be helping customers by giving them a great deal! Tell them their customers will miss out if they don't call. You are not cold-calling. Everyone you call already chose to do business with you, so you are a friend they would like to hear from. Everyone has problems sitting on their *** behind a desk. The tanning business is ONLY about exceptional customer service, cleaning, and new lamps. And work. I've been in the business since 1989, and nothing ever changes. I find this website depressing, so I seldom post. But if anyone is listening and ready to work, I'd be glad to help. |
