Rep Power: 0 | Re: Taking Retin-A Micro, but want to tan! I used Retin A when I was younger and still went to the tanning salon and out in the sun...because i thought "what do they know?" Yea well, I'm the stupid one, because my face was so beat red and shiny from all the moisturizer i was using because it was also dry, i looked HORRIBLE!! I would definitely not risk it. Finish the medication first and then tan. It doesn't matter if you wash your face before you go tanning, the stuff has seeped into your skin...i made that mistake too and had to learn the hard way. Go the self-tanner route for now.

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Taking Retin-A Micro, but want to tan! I'm on the same prescription but with a glycolic acid wash and lotion as well as the retin a and clindamycin. I covered my face at first and would only let it tan for maybe 5 minutes, since I started tanning again..3-4 weeks ago, my face has cleared up and I haven't needed to use it, I still use the clyndamicin because that is just an antibiotic and doesn't really do much drying out like the retin a.
