Rep Power: 0 | Does anyone know if any lamp manufacturers or lamp distributors offer lamp recycling programs. EPA regulations are very costly to salons; I think it would be a great help to we salon owners if they would offer affordable programs. Also, does anyone know who is the most reasonable recycler - I'm getting quotes as high as $700.00 for recycling 150 tanning lamps! Can this be REAL?! |

Actually, in most states, if you break them they are considered hazardous waste and disposal costs skyrocket. We put them back in the original pkg and tape them shut. They can then be disposed of at the landfill in our county (Yakima, WA) as long as they are less than 200 lbs per trip. You can usually recycle them directly at the landfill sit free of charge as long as they are intact and packaged properly. |
