But I have a home tanning unit and I have Veloicity Plus bulbs in them now. I want something with more power, and a bronzing effect, mayabe reflecting or something.

Is velocity plus 7%uva? I am wanting to get really a more brown color. Is the Sunbronze brand lamp any good? I still tan in a HP, but need something stronger for my home unit.

I appreciate your help. Thanks!

Throw us a bone here Sweetness - WHAT bed??

When you say you want something to get "really a more brown color", is your complaint that you are too "red"? Or just not dark enough?

How many hours on your current lamps?

What skin type, how often do you tan, do you use lotion, how often do you go to the HP bed (which one?)?

As a general rule, a home unit is not designed to be that 'strong' and it won't matter WHAT you do to it, it's not going to perform like a 50lamp VHR bed! But fill in some of the holes above and we'll try to guide you...

I have a home unit also. I usually tan here at my salon, but there are days when I just want to go home. My bed at home is about 6 years old and is only a 16 lamp. I like the Phoneix Extreme 9.5 lamp. They have more bronzing power than the panthers or cheetah's that I've had in it before. They are only recommended for a 10 minute session, but with my bed only having 16 lamps, they give great color.

Sorry, no, I want something more of a browning effect. It is a Sunquest 16SE, and I still go to the salon for the HP, but need something stronger. I tan about three times a week, and absolutely use lotions (Salon lotions) D/S Fiesta Sun, etc. And the bulbs probably only have about 250-300 minutes (20 minute) Sessions. I am gettting tan, but want something stronger.......

Thats why I use the 10 minute lamps in mine. Mine is the 16SE also. The stronger lamps make up for there only being 16 of them. I have seen incredible color. My bed is a 25 minute. I would much rather have the 9.5's in there than the velocitys. It was such a waste of time with the velocity lamps due to the fact that there were only 16. I've even tried using lamps out of my bigger beds here at work (8.5's). There are still over 200 hours on them, but they still don't work as well. Try the Phoenix

Yes, I lay at least 20 out of the 25 minutes. It's so much more worth my time now. I just figured if my beds here at the salon have 32 lamps and are 10 minute sessions, then I can safely lay 20 minutes in my bed at home with exactly half the number of lamps.
