Why do you think the re-sale value of tanning equipment depreciate so fast? It worse than cheap model cars...something needs to change.

Aluminum, as apposed to what? I'm not sure what you mean...aren't all tanning beds basically aluminum? Or are you referring to the beds with a lot of fancy plastic stuff (like new cars...)?

As opposed to plastic. I'm just repeating what a bed distributor told us.

You're assuming they were ever worth such 'value' when new.

The value of a new car is sticker price minus employe discount, dealer promotional discounts, rebate(s), destination charges, and of course taxes. That is why it is worth many thousands less the moment you drive it off the lot. The average transaction price, along with residual lease value estimates, establishes a baseline bluebook wholesale value about 35% below sticker with zero miles on it. Your first 10 miles makes it a used car... knocking off another 10%. Supply and demand drops it at least 5% more, leaving you holding a piece of metal and plastic worth half of MSRP.

Moral to the story: get a 50% off sale before buying.

I wouldn't say take that much off but like you said there is a little room to play with when buying beds. I dont buy the mteal over plastic story I think both if good beds last depends on what youhave as a bed. I would buy a new bed over a used bed any day of the week. I dont understand why people buy used beds. Now you can get new as cheap as used with warranty. All bed after awhile are going to lose value I would say after 5 years its time to buy new beds.
