Rep Power: 0 | But if you are on a system like Helios and the staff can't assign a free tan, what do you do. The minute you give free rein to the staff to give out store minutes that are only to be used for resending time, etc. you run into the problem of them trying to fraud down the road. Our clients know that if there are no minutes in their file they can't tan. |

Rep Power: 22 | I give free rein to the staff. They already know how to set beds thruogh the t max. They know i watch enough they will get caught. I have read post on here where people say "i think this employee is doing so and so". Anything i see that doesnt look the least bit right i ask. I tell them this is what I see can you please explain it to me. After they explain it i have to tell them "you know why i had to ask please lets move on". It is very uncomfortable more so for me. I find it to be very effective though. What i really like is calling someone at 7 in the morning to explian something to me. They hate that. Usually anything they give away or do something that doesnt look right they leave me a note. Dont want calls at 7 in the morning. Anyway before someone jumps on me about the t max thing. If and when that computer goes down you still need to be able to set the beds. I have been through some of the greatest computer melt downs of all time. In the middle of april and that computer crashes the only thing between you and sanity is the t max. I cant always be there if somthing happens my crew will be able to get by. Oh and does my crew steal? I dont really know. I like to think not. Im not stupid though - I look for it every day. |

Rep Power: 23 | Two fiddy... why can't they just call you in eth event the system does crash...Then give them the code? I agree they should know how to use it. BUT If there is a problem.. They can call me. I will give them the wall code. Get the PC up and running..and change the code the next day. Or that day If I am in the area, I will pop in to 'pick up my mail' and while thier cleaning the bed..I change it. _________________ Jane... Rep Power: 22 | There is a running joke that the computer seems to go down when i am on vacation. Two years ago walked into hotel in vegas - phone rings. Four years ago i was out of the country and they couldnt call. I am not going to have people standing around waiting while i try to figure what to do over the phone. Something happens they know what to do. There has been time in the past when i would have to operate this way beacause the people were stealing. When i took over this salon - it took about 6 months to get them all gone and get in my own crew. I have poeple that have been with me for 4 - 5 years. They are darn good at stealing or just not doing it. We always have 2 people at night. If you want to steal you will have to convince someone to do it with you. Plus i beleive if they want to steal they will - nothing you can do. There is way to get around what ever system yu put in place. **** even CEOs find way to steal and the are rich. If you want to steal you can - question is will you? All i have to do is think you are and will be working in the direction to fire you. Hey you spilled a glaass of water - your fired! |

Rep Power: 0 | Our store is much like 2fiddy. We have the computer, but if they have to, they can use the timers. We compare the timer lamp time to the computers. If there's a big difference it gets investigated. To the original question, I'd give them a free tan. My wife would prob. do #2. The staff....it depends.... some would #1, others #2. It would depend upon the tanner. Yes, this is a bad thing to have inconsistency, but it's relative to the confidence thing. There's one who does EXACTLY what my wife tells her, so she'd give no free tans. The other has been there a while, rocks the house in $$$$ sales, and she'd give it away in a heartbeat. Is it a bit of a dichotomy and I won't tell you its the best....but it's how the scenario would honestly play out in my opinion (in my store). |

Rep Power: 22 | Good point it can depend on the customer. I have tried to train the staff on looking at the customer number. This can be a quick way to tell how long the customer has been coming in. I have told them give leeway to customers with lower numbers. |
