Rep Power: 0 | Miss Margaret, where's all the anger coming from. Number one if you don't want other manufacturers to contact you then post your address and business name. From a mail stand point contact the companies that sell mailing lists to have your company removed from them. Finally don't be so short sighted that by not exposing yourself to the latest in tanning products and technology that you might be falling behind the times and your competitor might have the newest products out there to compete against you effectively. The manufacturers and the tanning salons owners are in this together to make our industry great. Please don't look at them as the enemy they really aren't they are just trying to promote their product. Better for them to be contacting you than to direct mail the consumer w/ a website to buy direct................ IMHO Regards, GK |

Rep Power: 21 | I am with Margaret on this one. How many times do we have to tell them we are not interested in their product, or if we might be interested, they should send a sample. If their product is as great as they say, then they will. I've even asked to be taken off their call list. A couple of them have agreed to do so, but then the same afternoon, someone else from the same company calls with the same pitch. I don't have caller ID so I can't screen the calls. What I REALLY love is when you try to be nice to them (they are just doing their job) and they end up hanging up on you because NOW, YOU are wasting THEIR time. Like I'm ever gonna order from them after they hang up on me? I see their ads in the trade magazines. I read about their product. If I am interested, I will call them. |

Rep Power: 29 | That's why we NEED a magazine for the PEOPLE so places like Breeze and others that deal direct to create a demand for their products. Sometimes the people don't understand that some of us may move 50bottles/week durring busy season and 10 all off season. People STILL THINK that tanning lotion is something BAD for your skin cause TANNING is bad. If ONLY we had a tanning group that cared... |

RE: Lotion companies, I have a standard, pat answer. "If you send me sample packets, I will try them out to see if we are interested" I don't want the 55 gallon drum to pump into cups. If after we test their product, I will give them a call. So far, I have only found 1 company willing to do this. Italian Thunderbolt. An I have place 2 orders with them already as I found their products to be great quality and are not being sold by discount lotion companies online. Because I trust my distributor, I support them with all of my other products because they guarantee them, and if I have a problem or they don't sell, I can return them. |
