Rep Power: 0 | My name is Chuck, I am 27 yrs. old, and have been in the tanning industry for 5 years now. After college, I was hired in as a bed cleaner and was introduced to tanning. I had built and opened a second location with that owner. After my bosses divorce, the original salon she owned eventually went out of business after a year due to unpaid bills, which I later found out was all due to drugs. A bad wrap for me. About 6 mths. later a friend had opened a new salon, an 18 year old manager I had hired and trained, and immediately asked me to run it for him since I was the one who taught him everyting he knew. I then built him a 12 room expansion to his 2 month old salon, to make it 29 beds total. About a year and a half later my father became ill so I moved about 150 miles away to tend to him. Luckily, I found a salon who was just starting to build a second location. My involvement helped open it up about 1 month ahead of schedule, which the boss was very happy about. I am very skilled in all areas of construction which helps when it comes to overhead costs and fixing things around the salon. When I was hired, I was promised a raise and benefits after 60 days and never saw one. She said she couldn"t afford it. Understandingly, I worked with her on this and lived on a minimal managers salary. It's now been a year and she claims the same, yet my personal sales totaled around 123K and her salon is on mark for over 300 her first year.(go figure) I now look for other employment oppertunities within the industry. I have a proven, superior sales track record and am a top quality manager. My record month for lotion sales was in April of 2002. I sold 203 bottles. I think my problem may be that I am working for smaller salons and have had some bad luck with dishonest owners. I have no problema being on call and busting my tail, in fact I love it. What I really would like is a regional sales management position, if anyone is looking. I love running the day to day operations of the salon, but improving and maintaining one salon is almost too easy and seek more of a challenge. If anyone is hiring, please email me at Cmooney77@yahoo.com to talk of possible oppertunities. I am willing to move almost anywhere, especially for a regional position. If you need a salon manager, Id like the salon to be a high-end salon, preferably 700-1000 tanners/day in the busy season. And yes I can and will do it all. Only thing that you'd have to do is sit back, relax, collect your cash and watch your salon skyrocket to the next level. I am great at what I do and good at everything else. I always aim to improve because, as we all know, theres always room for improvement. Sincerely- Creative, talented, confident _________________ [ This Message was edited by: Superiorsalesman on 2005-01-26 02:40 ][ This Message was edited by: Superiorsalesman on 2005-01-26 12:12 ] |

Rep Power: 22 | Nice letter ssm...but when doing a letter for application or resume, you should make sure you spell all your words correctly. Especially when you are doing it on a forum of owners who will read it. You being in the industry and will relocate, you should send your proof read resume letter to the big boys, looking for someone with your experience. And a few letters of reference will help you also. |
