I am preparing to purchase an existing salon. The beds they are selling are 8 years old with 4000 hours. I think they will crap out soon, however I am not an expert. Can anyone offer me advice as to the depreciation value or how long the beds run? They are Sunvision 28 XLT.

8 years old and only 4000 hours? You've hit pay dirt. As far as the hours, but if they are in an existing salon I'd wanna know why they have such little hours on them. (Lack of use=lack of revenue) Tanning beds, basically, are nothing more than body sized light fixtures. Maintain them ,keep them clean and looking good and they will always do the job they were meant to do.

No offense but Sunvison is not top of the line, but maintain them, and it'll work for ya.

I'd say 4000 hours on SUNVISIONS, and they are about TO THEIR LIFE! Just for your information, though a bed like used 8 years old and that many hours are worth about 500 a piece! So base some of your price on that! A good quality tanning bed METAL FRAME will last you 10,000 hours! But sunvision is not a metal fram bed!

I'm no ETS fan, but tanning beds are not like cars. Would you scrap your BMW just because the tires are warn. If you have the bux, maybe, but the rest of us would just buy new tires.

You lie. It's like they've been storage, 4000 hours in 8 years. Well there are ETS, but still, that's only 500 hours a year. Sunvisions aren't that disposable are they?

We have 10 of these beds some with over 6000 hrs. We still have the 1st bed we started with and it is still making us money. Take care of them and they will take care of you.
