Hello!
I just bought a used ZX30 3F about 6 months ago and all has been good until yesterday. I was going to get into my bed when I tried to turn it on. It wouldn't. So, I turned off the breaker thinking it may need to be reset and it worked. I noticed when the last 5 seconds timer when off it just beeped twice (instead of 5 times) and then the numbers flickered like a low battery would. Anyway, I tried it today and again it wouldn't turn on. I tried the reset of the breaker and instead of turning on, now the numbers won't show at all. And if I try to turn it on by pressing the key pad, nothing happens. I am totally lost. Also, there is no warrentee, of course. So, I guess my question is what's wrong. Also, is there a battery or something for the keypad?
I have it hardwired into a breakerbox and from there into the main breakerbox. The installation was done by a pro.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks!

SOUNDS LIKE A BAD MAIN TIMER

sounds like something with the timer...or maybe a loose connection where it is hardwired to the box...

Having a bunch of them,I suggest checking your wiring and voltage first,if not the problem get ready to shell out a few hundred for a main timer. The key pads do go bad,but not often.

I just had two of my ZX30-3F's do the same thing. I tried everything from the main timer to the keypad. It turns out the keypad was the culprit. It cost about $130 from ETS, but this appears to have fixed my beds. Hope this gets you going.

Thanks for the responses. I have one more question, where can I get a manual for the bed? I found a PDF file on the internet when I first bought the bed, but since lost it and can't find where I downloaded it.... Any help would be again appreciated!

Thanks again!

OK, I found a manual and a schematic layout, but I still have one more question. I think it is the keypad since it was the keypad that was acting funny at the beginning. The timer would work the entire 20 mins, but at the end the keypad made funny noises and wouldn't turn back on. I think the keypad would still get some kind of reading when the power was turned on. I am getting nothing, now. Also, when I took off the canopy and turned the power back on, the timer indicated it has power. There was one led light blinking on the main timer. It is labeled "D12". Anyway, to my question... is there any testing procedure I can use to see if in fact the keypad is the culprit? I doubt ETS will accept a return of electrical parts.
Thanks again and I hope all is having a GREAT Thanksgiving!

The actual problem is probally the rj connection, you'll still need the key pad.

A bit more info about your ZX30 problem. I told you before that my keypads were the culprit but my son in law actually corrected me and said it was the circuit board that the keypad connects to with the ribbon cable. When you order be sure to be specific that you need the circuit board and not just the keypad or you may not get the part you need to fix your problem.

Mine have been doing something like this as well at the end of the visit it only beeps 2-3 times instead of 5 times and then it says 8.8 I looked in the book and that wasnt any help Ive called ETS so much for that they never call you back, but if I turn off the breaker for 3 sec and turn it back on its fine, it only does it every now and then its not all the time.

My starpower 52's controls in the bed are not working. I can program it from front, but customer cannot change fan speed or facials... I thought maybe it has gotten wired in wrong. Does anyone have one that I can compare too... This was an assumption bed, so no paperwork with it... It is a 2003, so it should have some kind of warranty on it, right?

I have replaced the timers on 3 of my ZX 30 3-F's. I could program the bed on the TMAX Manager Pro, but the client could not use any of the controls on the key pad. On one of the beds, the keypad and the circuit board was bad. I don't know how much they cost to replace because mine are still under warranty. I was told though that the timers on these beds don't last as long because they are on the bed instead of the wall, and get much more heat and vibration from the bed. When my ETS beds (the small ones such as the ZX30's are done, I'm going with another manufacturer. I won't be able to afford new timers every few months.
