I am new to the tanning industry from the sales aspect. I am having some troubles selling my new product directly to salons. I don't believe I come off as a true "salesman". I am polite and just want to get my product out on your shelves. It is a product that deals with the prevention of yellowing of acrylic nails. What advice can everyone give me when going door to door and leaving without product in hand?

Well that is the first I heard of it. If it is what I think it is, my product doesn't need to be applied like a nail polish. Nor is as messy as an UV chap stick. If you could give me a web address so i could learn more about this product your talking about, thanks.......and it doesn't matter if a product is out there, It is how you market it and present it to be more appealing to customers.

I see had no clue. They are nail covers and they are all over. No need to apply any layer of barrier or messy chap stick. Pick up a book from any tanning dist. and you will find them or better yet look them up on the net and ask them if they carry them. Here you go Four Seasons, Tan America, National Tanning Supply, Future Industries, Silver Image, Heartland Club Tan etc. They will ship you some. I'm all for trying to start selling a new product however this product it's not new.

I see what you mean, for the nail covers. My nail covers are for just the nail. Thus NO TAN LINES.

I do appriciate your responses though. If you would like to look at my product i have on auction going on ebay. Type in "nail guard" and you will find it. If you have seen products like mine, well here in Canada we haven't seen them.

Thank-you again.

Ya well I am still selling in stores, but am a perfectionist that is why i wanted people to help me in approaching salons. I am only doing ebay due to me trying to find a greater market. Not all bad for a 20 year old.
