Support Our Troops this Holiday Season
Copied without permission from rennlist.com:
(Because it is just the right thing to do, period)

Ways in which we can support our troops!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As we lay around getting tanned this holiday season, let not forget our the less fortunate troops who are looking for things we take for granted!!

Here is a great way to help our troops overseas!! My wife and I are going to do the last option:

I was able to find some websites were you can send care packages to members of the military. Some of the websites provide wish lists. Many of the items on their wish lists are things that we take for granted - soap, deodorant, skin moisturizer, eye drops (if they're in the desert) cookies, candy, etc. Many of these items are not available in their PX because demand exceeds the supply.

Below are some websites if you are interested in sending care packages to our military.

Option 1:
The easiest one to sponsor is with the USO. You can contribute $25 and the USO will send a care package to one soldier. Your gift is tax deductible.
The link is: http://www.uso.org/pubs/93_325_1391.cfm

Option 2:
On another website you can adopt a soldier. After you click on the icon "I'd Like to Foster-a-Soldier Now," you will be given the person's name, branch of the military and his/her home state. This site is also convenient because you can purchase items right on their website and they will send the package directly to that soldier. That link is:
https://www.treatsfortroops.com/foster/index.php

Option 3:
The last website requires the most effort. On the home page, you select from a drop-down menu that you want to sign-up as a supporter. You will them get an electronic form to complete. If you want you can specify whether you want to adopt a service man or woman, branch of the military, etc. After you complete the form, you will receive an e-mail in about a day or two with the soldier's name, address and wish list. You will have to go to the store to purchase items, pack them and bring them to the post
office yourself. And you must complete a form at the post office - Customs Declaration and Dispatch Note (PS Form 2976). Although this requires the most effort, it may prove to be the most fulfilling, since you can write letters and send a number of packages over time. The link is:

You can contact your local red cross they normally do packages for the troops.
This is a great post and please do remember them.
Those who are there, those who are coming home, those who have lost their lives and the injured.
You dont really know how many people have been touched by this war. When you are in a military town and you come to really know your clients and meet their parents and families when they are visiting it really hits home and they become extended family. Remember them all in your prayers.

You can also support by donating your airline miles!
But your miles are still needed. The miles are used to pay for tickets
for soldiers returning home on emergency leave. They are also used to
fly families of wounded soldiers to U.S. military hospitals.

You can find out more information and how to donate your miles here.
