I was just wondering...what is the difference between after-tan moisturizer that is sold in tanning salons and just regular "everyday" moisturizer that you can buy at any drug store. I've heard that regular moisturizer can harm the accrylics, but is that why salons urge you to buy their lotion? I am currently using Angel and I like it, but I think I may have to try undercover angel next time around I'm planning on sticking with this lotion cuz it makes my skin SUPER soft! Trust me, I stick with what works! Anyways...just wondering what makes Angel (or any tanning salon moisturizer ) better than the drug store kind. THANKS!!!

Salon sold moisturizers have no mineral oil, and the marketed lotions have hydrocholride which will fade your tan.

salon sold moisturizer will help you tan last longer, less fading and you wont have to tan everyday. I only tan 3 to 4 times a month and use my moisturizer everyday which helps the tan last longer.

Also, some salon moisturizers contain a small amount of tanning accelerator to help prepare the skin for your next tanning session. Store lotions may include sunscreens or ingredients to cause the skin to exfoliate faster (means tan fades faster). Most salon moisturizers also have lots of seed oils which moisturize better because they are more readily absorbed into the skin than mineral oils which basically lay on the surface.

Angel is a great choice for a nice light moisturizer . If you have a little drier skin, I would suggest Continuous by Soakin' Up the Rays or Monsoon by Fiji.

Pam is right on the money.

Continuous (TM) contains tyrosine which helps your tanning process, this ingredient is not found in retail moisturizers.

Some moisturizers also contain SPF which will inhibit the tanning process.
