Starting with the 05 season Palm Beach will
longer do private label. They make better
margins on national brands

Who used those clowns? What products do they sell? Are they responsible for the condament tanning lotion line? "CATCH UP" Tanning accelerator, Relish Cooling, Mustand Tingle. All available in 1oz Trial Sizes.

I just never heard of them that's all.

This does not shock me. In the past, franchises have moved away from private label to brands just to return years later.

As a major chain, think about the fantasticly low prices the national brands of indoor tanning products are offering them as a national franchise. Somehow I do not think that brand would offer that same fantastic discount price to you with just your salon. That gives them a major competive advantage in the marketplace with that brand name of lotion.

The fact is they were not making money with their private label

Do you know who was supplying their PL lotions?

Do you know what brand they have chosen to sell?

I would not be shocked if they were not making money instead I would bet a major brand was willing to match the price they were paying for their PL with less hassles like shipping and inventory.

It is a appealing idea we all wrestle with....it is hard to do it right....more important than the lotion is the packaging and shrink wrapping the bottles to have the shelf presence...believe me it drives me nuts....but I have not figured out a good way or better way to market this concept...
