Has anyone heard of city blends cafe smoothies? If so, how do they compare to Island Oasis? I have looked into City Blends, but found out about Island Oasis through this site... which do you prefer, if any?

I'm not sure about city blends. Island Oasis is a large blender type machine where you prepare drinks one or two at a time. The other company sounds like a supplier of smoothie mixes. The island oasis makes good drinks, but they are fairly labor intensive.(When I say labor intensive, I mean you, or one of your employees has to be available to make the drinks & clean the units between batches) We bought a Bunn smoothie machine, We use it as self servce, or we can get them for the customers. It has worked out well for us

I used to use Island Oasis in my Smoothie bars and it was great to get us started. With experience we have learned better mix without their blends. I think it would be great for a tanning salon because they are soooo easy to make.

I use Island Oasis and can't say enough good things about it. Our clients absolutely love it, and it is so easy. I don't think it is labor intensive at all. Just clean the blender and measuring cups after each use. We have a three bay sink, so it is very simple and fast. I would recommend anyone looking into Island Oasis to definitely go for it.

Those of you that use and LOVE Island Oasis, do you offer smoothies or the fruity drinks.. or both?

I contacted the Canadian Division of Oasis for further info on starting up, and they never did get back to me? Client support? Hmmmmmmmmm?

richard9091: have any info to share on the Bunn unit?

Bought my Bunn on ebay. Paid around $1000. It was sold by Affiliated Eq. in Maumelle, Arkansas. Ours is a totally refurbished unit with 2 flavors. We make a fruit smoothie, and a cappucino smoothie. We have a health club so we made ours with fruit juice, and made the cappucino with whey protein, so they are health drinks. You could just use the mixes that tons of venders offer. They are not as good as the Island oasis, but all we have to do is add mix every day or so. and Totally clean the machine once a week. It has a chilldown feature at night so that the mix stays just above freezing and then you turn it back up the next morning. We sell 16 oz drinks for $2.50 ea.our cost is approx. .45 including cups. We made our money back on the machine the first month.
