Rep Power: 107 | I've noticed many posts regarding what is required for salons to be "legal". Follow this link to see if you are in a regulated State http://www.tanningtraining.com/state.html Last edited by Neon Beach; 02-09-2006 at 05:37 PM. |

Rep Power: 24 | I think to be a state inspector, you should be a former salon owner. You would know what to look for. I know a lot of salons in my state that do not conform to the regulations. Thanks for the link, Neon. Great post for newbies. ________________ To really know what's HOT; "the people" must be heard.[ This Message was edited by: lil_missfit on 2004-09-11 10:58 ] |

Rep Power: 22 | Even if your salon is not in a regulated state you should adopt some of the regs and run your salon as if it were, this way you are ahead of the game and you are running a top notch place. NOT all salons in reg states run their salons as they should, but to be the best stay on the top of all things. All employees waiting on clients should be certified and know how to skin type and of course how to not BURN a client. |

Rep Power: 21 | No NY has not inforced their regulations yet. I am in NY and honestly wish they would. All they really have done is "adopt" the USFDA requirements, and any complaints will be investigated, but sbtanning is correct, they do not have the manpower to enforce it. I know of other salons in my area that don't "practice" the regulations, and I agree with you Neon, that it would be a "fair playing field" if we had better enforcement. I watch to see what the other states mandate, and try to conform to most of those requirements thinking someday, NY will do the same. Hopefully, my customers see the difference. |
