Rep Power: 23 | I was always taught that to sell a product that you had to have a FULL display to show you believed in your product. Do you let your shelfs get empty this time of year? I know when I first started in the slow times I would stare at my show cases thinking God I'D LOVE TO Have that cash. Flick |

Rep Power: 0 | I let my back room inventory dwindle way down. My shelves in front look about the same...maybe a few less of each. Most of what I have this time of year is in front.I agree there is no sense having that money on your shelf. Also, I closeout lotions that haven't done well for that season. No sense having turkeys left over all summer. In the fall I try to bring in something new to catch the regulars' sales. Pam |

Rep Power: 21 | We always keep at least four bottles on display of each lotion we sell. A full display case of lotions will always sell more than a spotty empty one. If you only have ONE bottle of a certain lotion people are hesitant to buy it...is there something wrong with it?? is it leftover?? I've heard all kinds of strange reasons why a person doesnt want to buy the "last" bottle of lotion. An emptyish display case implies poor management practices, possibly a failing business, and poor cash flow. While the latter may be true for some, I think its best not to clue the customers in on this. When I was starting my first venture and I was MUCH younger, a very successful older business man taught me that a customer's perception of your business can guarantee success or failure. "When customers ask "how's business?", business is ALWAYS good and we're ALWAYS making money, even if we're not." A prosperous in-store atmosphere fosters a loyal and stable customer base. If clients begin to think things are not so well, they may go elsewhere. Always have a winning attitude because people dont want to associate with a loser. |

Rep Power: 23 | I would say 2 or 3 dozen depending on your display. If it does not look full your customer will think you don't have faith in it. During the slow season just dont look at and you wont think about your investment. That sounds dumb, But its the truth,To many salons take their inventory down to nothing and in reality that causes them to loose money. Flick |

Rep Power: 29 | My salon had I think 20 bottles total around this same time 2 years ago(previous owner). Right now I have about 200 total. Sell off the stuff I don't plan on carrying next year quickly and then ride the rest into the new year. |
