Re: Allergic to DHA

Try the natural bronzer stuff, SB Ravishing or Perfectly Dark. Popular here anyway

Re: Allergic to DHA

I also have clients who are allergic to DHA, which is nothing but sugar. DS's "Sheer Wisdom" is a good one that I recommended to a client who tried ever self tanning product out there and broke out with a rash. She absolutely loves it! Italian Thunderbolt's "Bella Vicci" has botanical bronzers. Some of our clients who believe they're allergic to particular lotions, discover they are actually allergic to the UVB rays in the bulbs. DS's "Halo" is great for this problem because it has UVB inhibitors. You can also buy bulbs that do not contain UVB, but they are expensive.

I was just making a joke about the name Techno-color. I guess i was the only one who thought it was funny. sorry for having a old sense of humor :)
By the way Tanology also does not have any DHA and is a natural product as well :) To all have a great day!!

Re: Allergic to DHA

When I was researching this before starting to do Airbrush Tanning and prior to developing my website I found that statistics show that people have less than 1% chance of being allergic to DHA and are more likely to have allergic reactions to over the counter makeup than DHA.
here is the information I have listed on my website based on research I've done....

"Should I be concerned about an allergic reaction?
True DHA allergic reactions are very rare. More commonly, people will experience Contact Dermatitis. This is roughly about 1% of the general public however, which is well within the normal ranges experienced with any cosmetic ingredient.
The cosmetic products on drug store shelves also have roughly a 1% reaction rate.
When using a sunless tanning solution , don’t automatically assume the reaction is from the DHA.
If an allergic reaction does occur after your sunless tan application or if you are prone to allergic reactions there are several factors that can cause individuals to have a reaction. I will gladly do a small patch test with my solution before spraying your entire body free of charge. There are alternatives if you find that your skin is in fact reacting to a DHA solution .
Keep in mind that skin reactions can come and go. Many people may be more prone to reactions at certain times of their life, and fine in others."

I recommend that the client see an aesthetician or dermatologist to really find the root of the reaction..
