I am thinking of purchasing some new Tropical Rayz tanning beds and just wanted to get some feedback. If you have these beds or have had them in the past please let me know how you liked them.

thx,
Lisa

At one time they were called Sunal. They were made in Germany, then sold to a company in theUSA. That was in the mid-80s. Sold again, re-birth into Perfect Tan, now Tropical, based in Florida, Tampa I believe.

There have been many reports, both good and bad. I personally have no experience, the negative reports out weighed the +. The best thing is to do try the beds..ask for references..and be sure they give you a warranty/and service commitment.
One thing I heard was the acrylic and lamp change was not easy. You have to get behind the bed to do it. If true, pulling a bed from the wall would not be easy.
I know they offer some attractive packages, but keep in mind, you get what you pay for. For a few thousand more, ther are many better beds out there.

We have 6 of these beds. The newer ones are easy to change the acrylics. We have the older ones. No problems changing the lamps. No problems with the paint. As far as the acutal acrylics, we have replaced 2 in the last year, however we have the older beds. They are made by American Quality Mfg., located to Coco Fl. It's a family business. As far as customer service, OUTSTANDING !! If we have a problem we call and we can talk to Andy immediately, and will walk us thru anything and without attitude and making us feel stupid for calling. WE would and will buy beds from them again. Nowever, we have read other post on TanTalk who have other opinions. "Search" Perfect Tan Beds.

Don't be discouraged by the negative feedback you hear regarding this equipment. We researched for almost 2 years for equipment. We decided to purchase the PerfectTan beds. We have a mix of three different units. None of our units have to be moved out to relamp or change acrylics. I am a clean freak and our acrylics come out quite often. We have no problems taking them in or out. To let you in on a little secret, I requested a price quote from another manufacturer on comparable equipment it was very high. When I informed him I had made a decision to purchase PerfectTan equipment, he put together another quote that was just a few hundred dollars difference. He even threw in the T-Max timers and some other stuff.
As far as waranty, they offer a great one. The shipping was absolutely free! It is a family owned and operated business. One of the brothers actually delivered our beds and helped my husband set up everyone of them. He ran all of them to make sure everything was ready to go. This saved us so much time. And my husband learned quite a bit from him regarding maintaing the units. The most important thing, our clients love them. I have clients tell us they have used a lot of equipment and have never gotten the color they get from our beds. I spoke with a couple of salon owners who actually have this equipment and they are pleased with it. One owner actually has 23 of these units. What more can I say. Good luck with your decision.

Ditto here....We have 6 Tropical Rayz Bed. We did have one bed that had paint chip problem on the handle of the top canopy but that is it. We have cleaned our beds since we started in July 2003 at least 4 times. We take it apart and completely clean the lamps, acrylics, reflectors....the whole bed with no problems. Customer service has been excellent. Our customers love the result that they get from using our beds. Literally in just 4 sessions they already have a base tan and they can see the difference! That's important!

In the near future if we ever open anymore salons, we will be calling them again. It just so happens Tropical Rayz goes with our salon concept & bright colors are great!

We had a specific budget when we decided to open the salon and these beds were affordable for us and it delivers the results that we were looking for.

We have three different types of the beds and all of them have fans. They are all new within the year. I don't know if that makes a difference.
