Rep Power: 0 | Well Zabazu I guess we have to just jump into reality for a second and realize that we need to deal with our distributors. Like it or not. Why would you want to buy a MagicTan from anyone other then your distributor? That doesn't make sence to me. Especially beens I hear even if you were to purchase a machine outside of them you still have to deal with them to get your products. Isn't that right? |

Rep Power: 22 | Well askjeeves, As to why I would want to buy my Magic Tan from someone other than the distributor... Price would be the first thing that comes to mind. "Beens" that I can purchase product online from Magic Tan directly(look at the other tanning website) or from any of the other spray lotion manufacturers that I choose...I'm not sure where in the Magic Tan "bi-laws" it says that it would be illegal to sell or buy used equipment. Saying that, I'm not sure why I could not buy from the company once I purchased a used one. I'd say my jump into reality might just come in the form of someone looking to sell theirs used. They have already absorbed the initial price devaluation of their purchase when buying it "new". Kind of like when you purchase a new car and drive it off the lot, could not turn around and get the same price for it 5 minutes later... You would'nt happen to be a Magic Tan distr. would you? Seem to be rather harsh and defensive on the subject. |

Rep Power: 0 | Zabazu, First off NO I am not a Magic Tan dist. I would say the same thing if you were looking to buy a used Mystic, BronzMist, etc..... I wasn't harsh and defensive seems like you were the one getting defensive. I was just saying there seems to be alot of people complaning about the price of these sunless machines. The way I look at it is either jump on the boat or get left behind. Regardless of the price. I see the sunless industry being very successful in the future. But hey that is just my opinion. And I get the idea we all think so or we wouldn't be here talking about it or here to slam it because we are scared it will become big. I didn't realize you could order MagicTan products online. what is the other website? I don't think they or any of the other companies have a law against selling their used machines. I just don't see why you would want a used machine. I know, I know price, but to me it would be worth it to pay a little more and have it under warranty. Also that way I know what has been going on with the machine. Same goes for a used car. Don't you ever wonder if the previous owners dogged it out or even wrecked it? Just a thought. |

Rep Power: 21 | I tried finding a used Magic Tan for a month or so back in October. I heard of one from a used bed sales person but then found out the salon owner sold it for $27,500. Not much savings. Haven't heard of any lately, especially this time of year. You may have better luck in the fall. We've done LOTS of Magic Tan spray sessions in the past week (PM me Zab and I'll tell you), and am confident we'll at least triple those numbers in March and April. A salon owner about 100 miles from us called to talk about her Magic Tan booth she had just purchased. She lives in a small town (20k people) and is doing similar numbers. She purchased hers from a different distributor than the one she was "supposed to" buy from. Seems like it created somewhat of a stink but I guess its possible to get one from other sources. Check www.magictantexas.com. Good luck Zab. |

Rep Power: 22 | Askjeeves, Jump on the boat or get left behind REGARDLESS of the price," Ummmm... no thank you, that statement does not make a lot of sense to me. "You are not a Magic Tan distr.," read your first post...does it sound like you are anything besides one??? As for buying a used car,"Do I wonder if it has been wrecked or dogged out?"...No,my family has been in the car business for close to 50 years and I am fully aware of all of the signs to look for that would tell me if an auto would have been in an accident etc. Never have had a problem with this. The only happy side effect that might occur from buying used is that you make money selling the used car instead of losing it when buying a new one. So even though you are not a distributor..if it seems like "there are a lot of people online complaining about the price of sunless machines," maybe sunless distributors should be willing to make a little less profit and thereby sell more machines. Just think of the profit that The manuf. makes before selling to distr... Distributors should begin looking to manufacturers to take a chunk out of their profits, consequently lowering prices across the board. I mean 10K profit from distr. to salon owner is just obnoxious. Just my thoughts... _________________ [ This Message was edited by: ZABAZU on 2004-02-23 17:07 ] |
