I have found that the overspray, even from non alcohol dha solutions causes way too much mist, and customers become annoyed by the hairdryer process. Does anyone have a preference to which over-spray booths works best, and even dries quickest? How do you all solve the problem?

I am currently building my own airbrush tanning "booth" if you will. It is more of a widened screen with fans, filters and lights built in. Once I get it built, I will post pics so you can see. It is based loosely on the Norvell system, but I made a few modifications. Should cost around $50 - $75 to make myself. As far as the blowdryer, I use one, but generally the only areas of the body I have to dry are the inner arms, (where the skin meets skin) and the backs of the legs in the "knee fold". This is not a problem. React cosmetics creates a fantastic solution that is extremely reasonable and it dries relatively quickly. Also, I use an HVLP unit that constantly blows air, whether I'm applying solution or not, and this also helps a ton with drying. There is a product that was designed by an airbrusher that is called a "powder blower". I haven't ever used it, but the website to check it out is www.tanyourhideocala.com.

Built our back drop for alot less! Looks just like expensive ones on the market and we even put our company logo on the side panels. Turned out great! Spot lights on the top with 3 exaust fans (bathroom fans). We have positioned a rotating fan in the corner that we turn on after brushing and this really helps to dry the solution on the customers skin alot faster. Cut a plastic hallway strip to fit in the front for the customer to stand on. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

I have a heavy-duty air cleaner sitting in the corner of the room and a heavy-duty ceiling exhaust fan. The corner aircleaner does the BEST!! Almost all of the overspray goes directly to it. I painted my walls with a very slick, heavy duty gloss paint. It wipes down great. If I was doing it again, I would probably build a back drop.

Do your customers complain about it being too cold with a fan in the room? Ours do. We placed our airbrush in a room right next to our stand up and installed a door between the 2 rooms. About 60% of our airbrush clients go in the stand up for 3 - 4 minutes to dry. Gets them out of the room so I can airbrush the next client sooner. We had 11 airbrushes yesterday.
