After reading the Kava Kava topic and getting really perturbed I am issuing this proclamation: ANY DISTRIBUTOR OR LOTION MANUFACTURER THAT COLD CALLS OUR TANNING SALON BEGGING US TO TRY THEIR PRODUCT OR USE THEIR SERVICES WILL BE FOREVER BLACK LISTED.

After your typical "hi! how are you today??? May I speak to the owner or manager please" you will be asked for your name, your company, your phone number, and then be politely told to never call back / take us off of your list / we will NEVER buy anything from you EVER so stop wasting our time AND your time, and it would behoove you in the larger scope of life to get a REAL job....one where your sole function is NOT to annoy and interrupt our daily mission of earning a living.

Its mostly independent lotion manufacturers but already today (Mondays and Tuesdays seem to be the worst) I have been harrassed by FOUR SEASONS and ROYAL f'in VIKING (what a stupid name). NO SOUP FOR YOU. NOW GO AWAY.

Why upset yourself...Do you have two lines?
Nicely say "I will be right with you...do you mind holding?"
Put them on hold and never go back to that line until they hang up.

Well, coconut, you may empathize with telemarketers. I do not have time for them or their shady practices. If I want their product I WILL CALL THEM. Maybe I get more of these calls than most other salons. Our salon is in a metro area of over 3 million people and we have one of the largest yellow page ads.....i dont know. Maybe its just that other salons are so slow they dont mind the phone ringing no matter who it is...... I think if more salon owners would take a firm position and not buy lotions sight unseen, or voice their displeasure over telemarketers we could make this "annoyance" go away.

I am in a metro area as well and I too get annoyed..I just find it unproductive to show it to them on the phone. I just hang up or tell what I said on teh post above. If you waste your time one them..and debate with them they only put your name back into rotation..for someone else to call. they feel they have a chance of winning you over. JMHO
If all they ever get is the dial tone or elevator music on hold they stop calling.
Try it see if they slow down. It has helped me. I mean we all are gonna get calls. You cold by a fog horn and blow their eardrum...heheheheh

We all get calls....we all need to make a living some how, Randy..its called a public service Maybe your phone number should not be listed at all.This way no one can call you..I am happy to have what i have and people wanting my business...i answer the phone with a smile and the people on the other end know that....Randy you sound like a Grump....you have time for the internet though but not the phone....hmmmmm.....somethings wrong?????

Want to stop the calls from Telemarketers???

Contact YOUR Trade Organizations... are you a member of Smart Tan?? Do you receive any FREE PUBLICATIONS from IST, Tanning Trends etc?????

These folks sell their lists to every kc*fen vendor out there.....

When they call they know the owners name, and the amount of beds you have and how many times you pee a day......

Until you demand that the people you are associated with STOP selling your information - the calls will continue....

Please remove the following information from your Master List:

(your salon name
all the telephone #s associated with that business)

BTW ~ I understand Randy's frustration on this..... when I am hoofing it alone in the beginning of the busy - I freeking HATE IT when I get a sales call for CRAP I will never ever order.....

I used to get really twisted about it.....

While the telemarketers are 'just doing a job' .... there is no reason for them to HARM my ability to run my salon.... and racing for the phone for R-SUN or SQUEEZE is interupting my business day.

Randy - do what MJ does,

if they continue to call you (like some wise asses do) order about 800$ COD - - and refuse the delivery.

The calls will stop.

Well, coconut, I am lucky to be able to make time for the internet, it being something I enjoy. I do not have time to waste on telemarketers, something I do not enjoy. Hopefully someday you will be able to distinguish between the two. Also, I'm really curious, you said "its called a public service".....what does that mean exactly?????
