Rep Power: 0 | I've been searching for some posts on this forum that have compared these two units. Unfortunately, I've been unable to find any. I thought I would share my experiecnes as to both and maybe someone can contribute to the cause and let me know whether you agree or disagree. MagicTan This was the first spray booth I ever tried and I was blown away. Advanatges: 1) COLOR: I couldn't believe what great color it gave me. Not a single person I ran into afterwards guessed it was a sunless tan and I really had to do some convincing of people who didn't believe it. That's how good MagicTan's color is. 2) CHOICE OF LEVELS: MagicTan has also come up with a new model that offers the customer a choice of levels. I have not yet tried this feature, but I regard it as almost essential. People just won't go, especially during the offseason, if they know that they'll be too dark relative to everyone else. 3) CUSTOMER SERVICE: top-notch, they service the machine in 24 hours if it breaks and they have local technicians ready to service it. 4) PRICE: $30,000 is reasonable. Disadvantages: 1) MESSY APPLICATION: the misting application process is messy. You get saturated with solution every time you walk in there and the solution is running down your body when you step out. If you do not know a towel technique to smoothen out the solution , you will definitely streak and will be embarrassed to go into public. 2) CLEANING IS TOUGH: The MagicTan machine itself really gets messed up after just one session. To properly clean the thing, it takes about 5-7 minutes of washing it down by hand, which isn't easy work. It's like cleaning a car after every time you drive it. If you don't really clean it down, the next customer will step into a mess that looks like blood has been splattered everywhere. 3) FADING ISSUES: there is sometimes (though not always) serious fading problems with the MAgicTan solution . Exfoliate all you want before, moisturize until your heart's content after, but the fading is not going to be pretty. You probably will get spots, scales, or speckling effects on your skin, and you begin to wonder why you ever put yourself through this in the first place. Mist-On Tan Advantages 1) CLEAN, EVEN APPLICATION: Unlike MagicTan which leaves your body covered in rivers of solution after a session, the Mist-On unit sprays your skin so clean that when you step out, you hardly have to use a towel at all (except to remove solution from body hair). It seems as though after Laughlin's nozzles spray you with solution mist, you also get sprayed with air. Very clean, even application. Disadvantanges 1) COLOR: not on par with MagicTan. sometimes even looks suspect as being fake. 2) PRICE: $10,000 more than MagicTan 3) REPAIR: Takes the guys a week to fly out from Texas to come service the machine if it breaks. 4) LOSS OF WARRANTY: if you use a solution that's not Dr. LAughlin's, you basically lose a warranty. |

Rep Power: 22 | Santigo I don't know your your in the market for a spray tanner or not, but wait. Next month a new company is coming out with their spray tanner. You are dry when you exit, you only have to clean it once a day, 4-5 days later it is stil getting darker instead of lighter. I've talked to the engineer and i beleive that it will be the best spray tanner on the market. |

Rep Power: 0 | I also have several spray tan units available. The booth is all stainless steel, Jets located front and back, Cleans easily, Also the solution is forced through 10 nozzles that disperse it as a fog. The droplets are smaller than 50 microns so you get an even application. I can give anyone info thats interested. I have put one in my store and am doing very well. The price is 26k and I can probably get it shipped at no cost. Installation is included and comes with a warranty. If anyone is interested just get back to me. Thanks |

Rep Power: 22 | Nato - may name is shawn. I dont have the room to discuss this here. I dont want to sound odd. I dont know the name of the company my boss handles that end. They dont have any info printed on these units yet. We will have the first 2 - my boss told one of my crew today first week of Feb. They are going to produce I think 500 this year. They have already taken orders for 300. That is with no advertising and trying to keep it somewhat quiet. The names of the people that are making it are very receonized in the industy. Just having thier names attached to it has already sold this many units sight unseen. I will be in the salon tomorrow 9:00 - 12:30. Monday 7:00 - 5. Central time. If you would like to discuss it please call 501-223-2500. Dont take this as a sales thing it is not. Just postin what I know and feel comfortable saying. |

Rep Power: 21 | WOW! I couldnt disagree with you more Santiago. We've had our Magic Tan unit installed for about three weeks now and the 100 or so people that have used it have not had any streaking at all. We have the new model that provides different levels of tanning and we use only the lowest level. They still come out looking great and hardly any toweling off is necessary. Clean up was a chore at first, but after some re-organization and some time cutting tricks we've got it down to just a couple of minutes. As far as the fading of the color goes, we have had some customers who have faded unevenly, but they havent made an issue of it. They just went in again when they started to fade. Over all, definitely two thumbs up. Magic Tan is also coming out with an upgrade to the booth that will allow us to apply a different solution each session depending on the customers needs. At the Nashville show Dr Laughlin's booth was going for $50,000. It was VERY unimpressive. Looked like it was built out of wood and didnt even have a door on the unit. I was extremely disappointed with the poor quality of his equipment. We wouldnt swap our booth for any other, especially one that is yet to be unproven. RANDY |

Rep Power: 0 | I've tried Mist-On, Mystic, and Magic. I like most of you want the best for my salon. I thought Mist-On was simply the best. The main reason is I could breath! I also saw some legal issues that looked pretty scary. Does anybody care about this? |
