At my salon, I have unlimited tanning for 18,88 a month..Cant go wrong. But i dont know if tanning everyday is good for you or not. I would go one or 2 days without tanning but then i could go everyday for a week tanning. I dont know. I said that if i go the unlimited package i would go one month, take a month off then start again. Your allowed to freeze your account for 4 dollars instead of the 18.88... Whats the best way to go?

No one will use it everyday. 9-11 times is the average, and no tanning everyday is not goo for you. Also you can only get so dark. If you have to go that much you will stay just as dark going every other day or third day. If you have good beds and lamps once or twice a week is plenty. Freezing their account. Is there a limit to how many times I can freeze it. Is an an extra $4 each time I freeze it. I've done the account on hold thing before, and still do for reallllllly good customers - only once. If you offer it to everyon(and excuse me I don't know if your new to the industry, I'am not talking down to you) get prepared to get screwed. You are turning a 30 day package into a 20 or 25 VISIT package. Which do you want to do. Charge $18.88 (I almost get that for a single visit) for 9-11 visits, or do you want to charge $22.88 for 20-25 visits. Its going to kill you.

Tanning every day is not recommended. Your skin needs 24-48 hours to allow for the melanin to get to the surface of the skin. Also, allowing a day or two in between sessions actually tans you better than tanning every day.

How do I politely tell my clients who tan every day that they're tanning way too much? I have one that insists on tanning EVERY DAY after she threw a fit when she bought a Buy One Month Get One Month Unlimited package and never used it and INSISTED we reinstate it because she was out of town. Lets keep in mind here she's tanning in one of our $15/session Level 3 beds...EVERY DAY! We're getting screwed for our money and she's wasting her time....Is there ANY way to stop this?

You will have people like that. I let people know (gooooood customers) "hey sorry you were out of town, but I cant credit that time back to you." "Next time you go out of town though let me know before hand, and we can credit your time back." "I hope you understand my situation, but I can't credit back everyones time for leaving town." "People would take advantage of me." If that doesn't work the tell if she wants to buy another package I'll credit you time you missed. If that doesn't work "mamm I'm out of options." You said you were already getting screwed on the package - let her go somewhere else and screw them. It sounds harsh, but we've all had customers that we've had to ask to find another place to tan.
I also know the old ad saying "an unhappy (emporium corect me if i'm wrong) will tell 8 people about their unpleasant experence." They probably don't have a stat on how many people she will tell that you are easy to screw. On my clients entry screen I type the name of the person or refered them, if someone did. You would be amazed at how many different people are friends or friends of friend etc. You can become an easy target.

I tell clients when trying to build a base they should tan 4 to 5 sessions back to back, after that 2 to 3 times a week will help them maitain, of course using moisturizers and tanning lotions help a tan last. I tell my clients I tan 3 to 4 times a month and they are amazed that I stay dark. I dont think I am that dark, I like it to look natural and I mention the whipped leather looking people they see on the streets, do you want to look like a saddle or natural, most will choose the natural so I tell them not to come in here everyday,...it is not necessary to keep a healthy tan to be in here everyday. It usually helps and they understand I am just helping them in the long run.

in our state its against the law to tan everyday..we keep the paper from the inspectors on the wall for everyone to see

I like that info. Taking a break in between tanning gives you a better tan. Please let me know the reference for that. I'd like to include it in a brochure. And I want to maintain a FIRM code on healthy tanning. Thanks.

I am in agreement with mouthybrat.I use to tan everyday....now i tan 3 times a week and I am way darker than when i use to do it everyday!I think it is a good idea to let your skin take a break....your skin gets browner!
