Rep Power: 0 | Are any of you planning on offering New Year's specials? Like reduced monthly prices for January or put your lotions on sale? I would love to get your ideas/input. We are trying to come up with some things to start bringing people in after Jan. 1st. We were not open this time last year. We opened in March. So, we're not sure what promos to have. |

Rep Power: 24 | I'm running a "Tan in 2004 for $204". Must be paid in full. Offer expires 12/31/03. It is priced where I will sell a few to generate some quick cash, but not a lot that will break me later. I did something similar in the summer, "buy 6 months, get 6 months free". only sold 2, but the cash was a great help for the slow season. I also brought in a new lotion line. Am running free visits with lotion purchase. 2 visits lotions $25 or less, 4 visits lotions $54 or less. Good way to get the lotions moving. |

Rep Power: 107 | Time for discounted tanning and lotions should be ending in January, peak season is upon you and it's now time to build up your bank account so that you can survive another summer........... |

Rep Power: 0 | I have had several sales Buy One Packgage Get 2nd Half Off equal or less in value. That includes all packages in any combination. Also 3 sessions for $3.00 ( Must be used within 7 days) 3 opportunities to make them a client. I've also had the same sale and presented it different. By figuring out the cost of one package and the cost at 50% Package and sold it as: example 1 month unlimited= $45.00 2nd Month=$22.50 ( Special 60 days unlimited$67.50. I do this once a year, and we do very well with it, especially during the slow season. 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing. We also put our lotions on sale. Our regular lotions 15% Off, and Our Private Label 20% Off. VIP MEMBERS GET ADDITIONAL 10%. |

Rep Power: 107 | Again, at least for me, January is when the tanners come out, and ridiculous half-price and discounted pricing make no sense (maybe if your comp. is striking out. January is when my monthly specials start to increase in price, not decrease. Supply and demand my friends. Price is low when demand is low and ........., well you can figure it out!? |

Rep Power: 0 | I agree Neon. All of our specials expire Dec 31. I can always offer them later if I feel the need but we are telling everyone that they end with the year. Also, I am raising some prices Jan 1. As lil_missfit says, add value to something your already sell instead of reducing prices. Give visits with a lotion purchase. Pam |

Rep Power: 0 | None. Never run specials. Well sort of. If someone calls and asks for a special, I say we don't have any. Then I go and say that if they come in by the end of the day, I'll give them a "one time discount on any package". This usually gets them in the door. Then I get them to buy one of the big packages. Say " You might what to take advantage of this discount offer on so-and-so package, cause you might not get that deal again". Get the idea. Or Give them a few free sessions or upgrades on the bigger packages. I like this better. Give them sessions rather then taking money off the package. Its ends up to be cheaper for me to give them the upgrades or sessions for free.. Hope that makes sense. |

Rep Power: 24 | I bought my salon in Jan 02 and am up this year from last even with a big salon moving in last Spring (WHEW). I also raised prices last Jan and had no complaints. I felt after one year of improvements that still continue the value was well worth it. I only discount pkgs to students, $4 off month and $3 off pkgs (10 visits). My pkg prices stay the same year round. The only thing I did do this summer was run a special of $2 visits which I have been criticized on here for. Comparing figures to 02, I was up for those months 30%, which paid the bills without digging into savings! I will be doing it again next year. I made more on $2 visits per month on clients paying daily than they would have paid buying the month. I do not have any HP or VHR beds. |
